Well most of my friends here know my love for goodies like cakes, donuts, and candy etc. They also know I got a large free chinaware set as freebies from my local casino. So last night (Monday) I used both these loves for a late night snack. I made a batch of Hersheys Mini Kisses bropwnies before I left to pick up my wife. I used the square baking pan I had recieved free from the casino. They turned out great. the wife and I each had some when we got home last night. Now I am eating a piece with some coffee. Do you ever get that late night craving for some sweets of any type? Do you bake your treats late at night or whenever the urge/taste hits you? I cook whenever I get the urge for sweets etc. HAHAHA!! HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!`

It's amazing isn't it that when people start talking about food you suddenly develop a taste for something sweet, I have only just eaten my tea and after reading your discussion started to crave something sweet, I blame you LOL! But yes late at night I always peckish, but what I do is eat fruit because that provides the sugar and it's not high in calories, because if I started eating sweets, biscuits and cakes I would be very very fat as I put on weight so easily. But I'll have a coffee if you are making one Grandpa Bob!

Wolfie's cup - Only have a small cup left. HAHAHA!
Blame me all you wish. HAHAHAHA! I like fruit but don't eat a whole lot. That is until my apples are ripened in my backyard as well as the strawberries and red rasberries I grow each year. Nothing like a bolw of cereal with home grown rasberries sprinkled on it. Yummy? I can't wait for my garden to be started. Still a couple months away though. Grrr! Here's that cup of coffee you asked for by the way. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

I have to agree with you as soon as someone mentions something about food, then start having a taste for it! Yes, fruit is a better way to go!

That really sounds good about now! No, I don't do too much baking, since I am rarely home, and if I am home, I sure don't want to do any baking! Glad you were able to put your free ware to use!

I understand that you are not home that much at all. Yeah, baking is always great. I would love to bake homemade brownies from scratch. My favorite kinds of brownies are: peanut butter, peanut butter chocolate, and pure extra dark, dark chocolate. Why don't you check out those websites here: www.hersheys.com and www.reeses.com.

What you see in the posted photo is what's left after I had a piece when I started this. So come on over. If it's gone by then I can bake more. I bought the economy pack from Sams Club Sunday so I still have 2 packages left. I baked one and gave one to my son as well. Thanks. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

Late night snacks are my big downfall and I tend to grab whatever I can when the urge hits me. I don't bake anything late at night but I'm lucky my 16 year old does and ummmm we happen to have Hershey's Mini Kisses brownies in the pantry now - I'm really hoping he'll spot them and do the work then when I smell em Mom will come running :)

I have driven to the grocery store late at night/early morning for a donut etc at the urging for one. HAHAHAHA! I love that brand of brownie the best. I love the tiny little hershey kisses in them. Yummy!! Leave the box sitting out and maybe he'll get the hint. Hee hee!! HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

Whenever my wife feels like baking some cookies with chocolate or butterscotch chips she has to buy an extra bag as I will sit and munch on one bag myself. HAHAHAHA!! HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

I am always up late making the toffee that I sell, so if I get the urge for some sugar I just munch on some of it or the many other sweet treats I keep in the house. I made peanut brittle the other day, so I have a piece of that I am munching on right now.

Wow wow, now I am drooling. I want some lol. And sometimes I do get those cravings but the problem is, I can't give into it for a few reasons. One being, eating something very high in calories late at night especially would not be good for my weight loss. Secondly, I suffer from sleep disorders. That would be the worst possible thing for me to eat late at night if I want to get a good rest which I always do. If I wanted it, I would save it for a treat one day of the week earlier in the day. But... I still want some LOL

My wife nearly every night makes chips and cheese with salsa. I like it, but not that often. I make my own salsa once my garden is fully ripened. Yummy! HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

When I bake, it is at night. I cannot stand baking during the day. I think it because my kitchen is less *busy* at night. I do the -I want and I bake thing. A couple of weeks ago I made a batch of cookies. They were delicious. It is a really simple recipe that I use. Cake Mix Bar Cookies 1 each cake mix 1 each egg 1/2 cup vegetable oil 1/4 cup water 6 ounces chocolate chips Directions Mix first 4 ingredients in a bowl until almost all the lumps are gone. Add the chocolate chips. Bake in a greased 9 X 13 pan at 350 degrees F for 25 minutes. Cool and cut into squares. Also may want to try butterscotch chips, or nuts for variety. I like easy baking lately. I also use an 11x7 pan and it makes them *real* thick and yummy. Now, I have to find my cake mix.................LOL

I used to bake a lot of cookies but lately that's been my wifes chore or whatever you want to call it. I'll have to print out this recipe for my wife and drop a few hints as I do have a cake mix sitting in the cupboard waiting to be used. HAHAHAHA!! Thanks also. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

LOL! I think this is hilarious because here I'm the queen of the late night carvings. There was one night I got up at 1 a.m. and ate an entire jar of olives. The a few months ago I was watching tv and it was almost midnight and I had a craving for these cut out cookies that I usually only bake at Christmas. I ended up staing up until after 3 a.m. baking them just so I could have a few. And now that I see this you have me craving brownies, haha. Thanks a lot,LOL!~D

I certainly do have those cravings Grandpa Bob. I always have some chocolate chip cookies, chocolates, ice cream and some cakes at home. It's really a habit of mine to eat some sweets late at night. I even eat milk, the powdered and condense one because its so sweet. Though I don't make them but they satisfy my cravings just the same. There was a time that I was crazy with super moist chocolate cake that I make them myself. But I do longer do that because its just too loaded and it seemed that I couldn't contro myself with them around that I just keep on going back for more. I gained so much weight that I really had to stop and settle for those little bites of cookies and chocolates.

I love maikng the chocolate chip cake style cookies. Thicker and tastier I feel. Just my prefrence is all. Yuck I have always hated powdered and condensed milk. I even hate 2% milk. I can only drink or use whole milk even in cooking. YUCK! My tastes once again is all. I could eat a whole cake but I can't stand chocolate cake with chocolate frosting. Too much chocoalte at once. Hi Grandpa Bob,:) You have just made me so hungry for brownies here! I 'never' bake anymore, but used to do so when I was quite a bit younger. This task has fallen to my daughter now, and she loves to do it, but seldom has the time. I'd go for some 'good' store bought brownies now, but I can't get out to get them. Oh well, I can always dream, or better still, maybe you could send me some.

The past couple of years she has brought over a tray or two of cookies etc for the family. usually it's my wife that does the holiday baking. Not sending any brownies, I want them all. HAHA!!! They look very yummy! I do get a craving for sweets sometimes when I stay up too late. They say it's your body asking for something to give it energy. I don't bake late at night...I kind of plan what I am going to bake ahead of time. Sunday night I did bake oatmeal raisin cookies because I wanted to use up some raisins I had. But once in a great while I do bake spontaneously...usually brownies.

I am an avid lover of home made bread pudding as well. Problem is noone else in my household likes it. So when I bake it it's always a huge pan and I eat it all by myself. HAHAHA! Now with apples growing I'll be making apple treats all fall each year. I also love oatmeal raisin cookies a lot. Yummy!!! HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

Hello dear Grandpa Bob. I am sure that you are a very good chef at home because you can make so delicious and tasty food as snacks. I would like to taste some of the snacks you make. lol. Well, I usually drink some orange juice with some snacks if I get hungry at night before going to bed. Sometimes but very seldom I cook some noodles to eat to get rid of the hunger coming at me. I also love sweets as I have a sweet tooth. hehe

Ohh I am a chocolate, cake, cookie, candy, sweets of all kind fanatic! I bake or create whenever the urge hits...one easy creation is to make your favorite cupcakes, and right before you stick them in the oven, push an opened mini reese's peanut butter cup in the middle of each...you'll have cupcakes with a little surprise in them...plus, have you ever tried nutella? it's available in almost any supermarket by the peanut butter, and it's great for dipping pretzels in, spreading on bread or croissants, and drizzling over cupcakes/cakes/brownies/cookies!! it's a chocolate-hazelnut mix and it's deee-licious!

For my favorite late night snack, I love brownies. Especially fudge brownies. I also love chocolate peanut butter brownies. Or just peanut butter brownies. See if I can search online for recipes for them. Hey, try out those websites: www.hersheys.com and www.reeses.com. I would really love to make homemade brownies. And I bet they all will come out fantastic from the power of my hands. For ingredients, yeah, I would have to use cocoa powder and peanut butter. Don't forget, the kind of chocolate I love is pure extra dark, dark chocolate.
