i have just found a small poem that someone else wrote but it is food for thought it goes
It is those that we know
Those that we love
Those that we trust
That elude us the most
i was thinking how true this is in my life and was wondering if any mylotters have anything to share on this?

what a nice poem and I think that we always expect so much more out of the people we love and trust and sometimes when they just do not quite measure up we are so disappointed. and yet a lot of times in looking back they really did do the best that they could because sometimes we forget that the very best of us are seldom all that perfect so maybe we always expect just a bit more than is realistic from them. maybe after all they were just doing the best that they could.

a short poem, such as this, with a witty twist at the end is usually referred to as an epigram. mark twain has some of my favorite epigrams.
Habit is habit,
and not to be flung out
of the window by any man
but coaxed downstairs
a step at a time.

hi haydog-thanks for correcting me-but thanks for the epigram you sent too-that one leaves food for thought too-have to admit though have never read any of mark twains books might just do that now-thanks for your response

Yes very true mine escape out the door the minute the washing up needs doing! But seriously it is the ones we love and care about that can seem that way, maybe because we, how ever unintentional, have expections of them so perhaps it just seems that way at times and also because they know us so well it can hurt us harder when they don't do what we feel they should if that makes sense. yes it does make sense ellie-specially when you dont expect anything but they think you do-they run-thats what hurts for me-yes the washing up happens to me all the time too!! lol am always left with that!-littleowl
