It was raining and I was crossing the street holding my 8 month old baby girl.I had on my favourite pair of slippers and i slipped in the street and fell down hard.I thought I had let her drop but Thank God my hands had mananged to catch her head from hitting the ground.I was so scared! All I could do was cry and cry.We immediately rushed her to the nurse to check her out.She seemed to be ok but I was hysterical. She is ok but I am still so upset.I threw my slippers in the garbage because they are what caused it.I thank God she is ok,i would have died if anything had happened to her.

Thank God she is Ok. there are situations in life when we feel that what would have happened else. I think you are very very lucky that she is safe. \Thanks God and best of luck.

I'm glad you guys are both safe! When my son was about 7 or 8 months old, I was getting ready to go downstairs, and I had just taken the baby gate down, to let the dogs down, too. My son was still several feet away crawling around. When my dogs ran past, one of them scratched my foot and it started bleeding. I went into the bathroom (just about 3 feet from the top of the stairs, to grab a bandaid, and my little boy went past me so fast that I didn't even see him! I came out of the bathroom just as he got to the stairs. I told him to wait right there and he smiled at me, and turned around to crawl down the stairs and fell! I grabbed his diaper and ripped it off, but he kept falling. I felt sooo horrible. He was fine. We took him to the doctor to get checked out. He didn't even have a scratch or anything.

I'm glad to hear she's fine. That is scary. So far it hasn't hasn't happened to me too bad thank goodness. I've tripped up a few times. It makes your heart almost stop. I always worry about it happening, especially coming down the stairs. Take a breath and relax. :)

Phew, thank goodness you're both safe! You were quick to not only catch her, but to bring her to get checked. When my daughter was a month old, I had her in the tub with me. Then, after I stepped out with her, I slipped and she fell onto the floor and slid back. She cried and cried, but all she got was a bump on the noggin. Sadly, I was unable to take her to get checked out...why, I don't remember. But, all in all she's ok. She's now 12.5 years old, beautiful as can be...and very smart.

i wear slippers out in places all the time too, that is funny. I have fallen holding the kids before, we've been lucky to not get too badly hurt. The good news is kids are more resilient than you think. My son did exactly what someone else did about falling down the stairs...i though for sure we were headed for the hospital...but it turned out he was just fine. My daughter who is 6 months is already pulling herself up in her crib & stuff...she keeps letting go and falling hard...but I talked to doc today at check-up who said she won't hurt herself that way...who knows?

I'm so glad your babies ok. I have 4 kids altogether, the youngest a baby girl at 11 months. I know exactly how you feel when my next youngest was 15 months old and I was pregnant with my youngest she was up and I went to the bathroom. We have stairs with a baby gate up. I was going to the bathroom when all of a sudden I heard a bang bang then bawling. I ran so fast, she had climbed up on the couch and toppled over the railing and fell down the stairs! I have no idea how far she dropped. The stairs are wood and she was standing in the basement crying. Angels must have been watching out for her that day. She cried for about 2 minutes while I held her and all she had on her was a small red mark by her eye. She was completely fine. I cried and cried that night. When my husband came home from work I started bawling again and could barely tell him what happened. The next day I told 3 different people at work, all really close friends like family and each time I cried again. Having kids is a blessing but sometimes they scare the heck out of you! May God bless you and your little one, I believe one of his angels was looking out for her too!

Oh that's so scary, but isn't also amazing the way moms instinctively respond? I was once running late for work, literally running down my stairs. At the foot of the stairs in my old house was a picture window. I was carrying my son, my purse, and a cup to bring to the sink. I missed a step, and fell into that window- but somehow managed to put the hand with the cup out to catch myself not the hand with my son- I broke the cup, the window and cut my hand & arm up pretty badly, but my son was unscratched & unharmed.
