What do you clean when moving into a new home?
before I move anything into the new home I scrub all the walls ceiling to floor with ammonia or murphy's depending on the type of wall.
if there are carpets they all get shampooed, all the drawers and cabinets get a good scouring and liner is placed.
Sinks and counters get a comet or ajax and wood scrub brush treatment.
it is easiest to clean an empty house, the next time I will be able to clean as thoroughly will be when I move out.

Whenever we have moved into a different house my husband always says clean the bathtub and sanitize it as other people have been in that. That and the toliet are very important to be cleaned and sanitized.

I haven't moved in 25 years! But when I did move in here my parents were still alive and came for three days to clean and get everything in here ready. And my dad spent several hours cleaning up and buring all the dog doo that they left in the basement and back yard! Yuck!

When I moved into my new home it was literally a NEW home. I did a walk-through with the sup the day of and made sure HE was the one (with his crew) to make sure everything was perfect.
The first thing I actually cleaned... this is going some years back so hard to remember... probably the counters and the such... there was still debris from construction so I did the counters with a good scrub as well as went over all the carpets to make sure there was no residue there.
Thanks
Zelo
