Are there certain foods that make you sad?

Today my grandfather gave me some black raspberries that were in his freezer from his bushes. I used to love my grandmothers black raspberry pie. It was my favorite. She passed away almost 2 years ago, so it is something I have not had in awhile. Since I had the berries I decided to make a pie. I did not have my grandmothers recipe, so I had to wing it. It turned out really good although not as good as hers. I was sitting eating a piece of the pie when I just got really sad. The last time I had tasted black raspberry pie was when my grandmother made it. Are there foods that do this to you too or is it just me?

The other day my husband made potato pancakes. They were very good. But it got me thinking about my grandmother. She made the best potato pancakes I have ever tasted. You could put sour cream on them. Or use applesauce. either is good. So while I was eating my husbands potato pancakes i was thinking about and missing my grandmother.

I have my grandmothre's cutout cookie recipe. It was my grandmother on my mom's side. The cookies and frosting are delicious and everybody loves them and want the recipe but my grandma never gave the recipe to anyone except her kids and then the year before she passed she gave it to me. When I was a kid my mom and her sister and me used to get together at my grandmas to baked and frost the cookies for Christmas. We would be decorating them late into the night until they were finished. One of my aunts who is very artistic used to take like half an hour (no kidding) to decorate a cookie. She would go as far as using tweezers to place the little sprinkles and every year my mom and my aunts would end up bikkering with her when it was really late and they wanted to hurry and finish. It was a playful little argument though. That's one of my favorite memories that are connected to this recipe. Now I bake them with my daughter and when it's time to decorate 3 of my nieces come to spend the night with me and my daughter. We put on our pj's, make hot cocoa and listen to Christmas music while we spend the night deorating. Last Christmas as we were doing this I remeber turning around in the kitchen and saw them all at the table decorating the cookies and it made me tear up. It was like looking at myself with my aunts decorating the cookies. I was happy to pass the tradition that I so cherished on to my daughter and nieces and sad at the same time because I knew I would never have the opportunity to ever do that with my grandma again.~D

Fortunately for me, no foods make me particularly sad. I might have some minor wistfulness about rhubarb pies. But not really sad.

I have eaten foods where it makes me think of someone close I have lost in my life. But instead of letting it get me down, I will ponder on the good memories of it all. I will even picture that certain someone cooking it or me eating it with them.

I think that depand on your mood, if you are happy, everything you eat will be very enjoy. If your mood is bad, the dilious food in your eye also will be rubbish.

Hi, Actually I do feel really sad when I see serving foods made of meat or any other killed animals, may be I feel so because I am a pure vegetarian. Anyhow it might be addiction to tasty foods.
