I am not saying this to be mean, but as a warning. Please do not ever become an alcoholic, it is such a horrible disease. My friend is so messed up with alcohol, sometimes I wonder how he has lived to be 53 years old.
A few weeks ago, some guy called him and told him that he could win a trip to Hawaii, all he had to do is pay a fee. I do not know how much they told him the fee was, but they asked him for his bank account number. He did not remember it, so he asked them to call him back in a few days.
He told his girlfriend about it and she told me. We practically begged him not to do it. We explained to him that it was a scam, but he was determined. He took the bus all the way to his bank. It takes about two hours both ways. He got the acoount number, came home and waited for their call.
No one ever told me that the call came through and that he had given them his number. On Saturday, I was visiting his girlfriend and she was calling him stupid like she always does. Apparently, this guy took $300.00 out of his account. I said, you are lying. I figured that he had got smart and told her that so he would not have to give that money to her.
She said, I can show you the bank statement. My heart hit the floor. I started explaining to her how he could call the bank and dispute the charge. She said, those people are long gone by now. I felt real sorry for him. But this is not the first time he has done something like this.
Someone sent him an application for a credit card once. They charged him $35.00 to activate it. He paid with a money order. Then they sent another letter and he paid $60.00. Finally, the girlfriend started intercepting the letters and throwing them away.
Now I understand why they keep coming up with these ridiculous scams. There are always going to be people out there that will fall for it. I hope that I die before I get to the point where I am falling for things like that. I am so serious.

I actully emailed one back and said well if I have really won anything msil it to me. I get the reply back no we need your bank account. I emailed it back and said yeah sure so you can take everything I have out. I never got a email back from them.
