A yearbook is a memorabilia from your high school or college days. Of course, we would want to look the best we can so that when we look at our yearbook, we can boast how good and young we look back then. lol. But it doesn't always happen that we look perfect the day the photos are taken. There's the surprise zit, or the bad hair day. Or we don't even know how to apply makeup... Wahhhh! And there are those who look good whatever they wear, however they style their hair, whether they have makeup or not. The photogenic bunch. So, after all those hassle of the photo-taking day, did you like the outcome of the pictures?Do you still look at your yearbook? Or do you keep it in the deepest part of a treasure chest, never to be discovered again?

hi swirlz! ^__^ yeah, a yearbook is like that, a memorabilia from high school. we had one too. i haven't opened it again for a long time now not that i don't like my picture in it, its not that bad but its not good either ^__^;;, i just don't know where i put it. LOL anyway, as far as i can remember, its all in black and white. we didn't have much fund for it i guess because we paid a small graduation fee. but whenever i look at it, i get a good laugh. ^__^;; we were so young and our faces are just so "old fashioned". LOL only a few knows how to wear makeup and they were considered to be flirts. thank God i didn't know how to put make up then. ^__^;; and there are some ugly ducklings who grew up really pretty/handsome. some of us really changed a lot in appearance. i also get a good laugh reading our ambitions and mottos in life. i can never believe that he or she really followed that motto or maybe it was only copied somewhere because its really out of their character. ^__^;; but the sad thing is, most of us didn't achieve our ambitions. but i guess when we wrote that, we still didn't know what we want to do in our life.

i guess that was the case too in our batch. maybe the guys find it too corny to give a motto well in fact they don't have any. even the group pictures were in black and white so its kinda boring to look unless we are looking for ourselves.

lol. I remember about the mottos we have on our high school yearbook. Not everyone submitted a motto. Maybe they find it corny. So we had a problem (I was a member of the school paper which also handles the yearbook) so we just gave them any motto we could think of. Some of them were really corny. lol. It's their fault. They have to live with it, forever forged in their high school memorabilia. As for the ambitions, I've always had my ambition straight, since grade school. I'm taking that course now, though I'm having a really difficult time. If it wasn't for my ambition, I wouldn't be suffering like this. lol. Too bad your yearbook is in black and white. Sometimes colors makes reminiscing more vivid. hehe.

I looked something like that - This is Edvard's Munch famous painting: The Scream.
In fact I like my solo picture on my yearbook. It is the only one where I look good (thank God xD). But then... There's also a picture from my prom night and my face is horrible there_

That's really funny. I could just imagine it. I hope there were others in that picture that have funny poses or expressions, so that it wouldn't be as embarrasing. I remember my prom photo. My hair was swept up for the prom but the hairdresser didn't put enough hair pins. I had shoulder length hair so after some dancing, some of it were falling down. I looked like I had bangs at the side of my face (which looked okay, I guess). But what's funny is when we took the picture, the person beside me also had bangs and we were angled towards each other. We looked like twins in that photo. Some were even teasing us sailormoon. Argh!

Ha, ha! Your post reminded me of my high school yearbook. Those were the times when digital cams were still out of our imagination. Films were expensive and usually, they take only one picture. Bad luck if it turns out bad and the yearbook has been published. My highschool yearbook is one book I would never want to look into its pages. My face was so white you can hardly see the nose and lips. Sometimes though when it's just an ordinary day, my photos look great. But when they are meant to be publish in a book or memorabilia, my pictures aren't very pretty. GRRR!!!

Yes, I want to go back to high school too, when everything was too easy. hehe. I do like the pictures with friends, they bring lots of memories. But the ones where we have to pose look so stiff. hehe. And my smile is weird. lol. Thank you unuzzz for responding to my discussion.

I actually like my yearbook photo. It's one of the only photos of me that I do like thought. I have my eyes closed in 99% of them.

Lol. Me too! But more like 60-70%. I used to have almost all my photos this way, especially when I was younger. I always complained why the photographer takes so long to shoot, that I get to blink in the midst of it. Now, I'm conscious about this, and makes sure to keep my eyes wide open. lol. But I still get them from time to time.

i like it okay. it's definitely not the best picture in the history of the world, but it's not the worst, either.

Oh that I'm sure. I don't think I can even consider a yearbook photo as the worst picture in the history of the world. hehe. There so much more that can be worse. It's good that you're happy with your photo.

Hi swirlz, I like both the photos in my high school and college yearbooks. It is really a memorabilia of my younger past. It is impossible to rejuvenate myself as young as what are shown in the photos. Though their out look seems to be a bit innocent in their old fashion wears, I still like to look at them as they make me to recall those old sweet adolescent memories. I enjoy watching them whenever I tidy the cupboard once in a while.

Normally I don't like pictures of me that show too much of my face, but my last yearbook picture turned out alright. Not great, but passable. I take it out every now and then to remember friends and good times.
