I Just Realized I'm No More Than Average!

After all these years and after everything I've accomplished in life, I have recently realized, "I'm just average". I have had a very full, satisfying life. I've done a lot of things. I've done some things no one would believe and I've done some things no one should ever do, let-a-lone attempt. I've seen some pretty wild things in my lifetime and seen some things NO ONE should see. Everything I've done, I've done with gusto and in most cases, did my very best. Sometimes, my best wasn't good enough and I recognized the limitations of specific attempts. I have previously thought some of the things I've done could be placed on the list of remarkable achievments at the least. Other things I've done are in the category of, "What the heck was I thinking"? After everything is said and done, as I'm in the autumn of my life, I suddenly realize everything I've done or attempted to do is nothing more than average. This isn't disappointing or depressing; it's just the way things are. Do you consider your life and your accomplishments above average or are you more like me - nothing more than just average. What is the most above average thing you've done in your life 'til now?

From what you have written I do not think you are just average. You may not have achieved anything more than the average person but you have done things your own way and it's not what you achieve but who you are that makes you an individual. I am definitely not average in any way I can think of. By that I don't mean I think I'm special, or that I have above-average qualities, just that I have not lived a conventional life and I don't conform to ways of the majority.

I think that how you rate yourself depends on what is important to you as an individual. If being married and raising a family is important to you and you have raised successful well balanced children, then I would say that you are above average. For me, I have done a lot of wonderful things in my life, but the thing that makes me feel that I am above average is my strong desire to do God's will and yield to him and allow him to mold me into the person that he wants me to be. Also, allowing God to use me to lead people to him is pretty awesome. Seeing God work in my life and in the lives of others is the most amazing thing to me. I have actually prayed for people and seen God answer my prayers. I am above average, not because of who I am, but because of whose I am.

First let me say this, You are no average chick!!!! i have only known you for a year and we have never met in person, but we write each other and talk on the phone. I know first hand the wonderful things that are happening to you right now and that is not average. You are not the run of the mill kind of lady!! You are so way above average, i am honored to look up to you. With that being said i think from what i have done in my life with my life, i am climbing the ladder of being more then average. I think growing up i was expected to not much and if i did anything it was no big deal. then i wanted more for me, and when i had children i wanted more for them. I have not cured cancer or anything like that, but I have mothered three amazing children, and am in the processes of starting my own company and workshop. I think that is above average for a young girl who grow up on the mean streets of New York City
