Are you reading my mind Terry? I just come back home from shopping for new bra. Guess what, I didn't buy any. I hate shopping for bra. I need one very badly, but I am not happy with all choices. All bras are no wire. I prefer bras from Europe, more choices with no wire bras. I still need new bra.... I do have few but wire is driving me crazy and I just want one without...

Hi Terry! Well, I try to buy 1-2 a year. I always try to see to it that I have an assortment of bra types - sports bra, pushup, simple, etc. I also see to it that I also have bra that you can change the style on how you use the strap so you can have many uses for it for different types of blouses such as onesided, bare shoulders, etc. I also make sure to buy once in a while an expensive bra of general style such as Triumph as these lasts for years and although expensive, its all your money's worth in terms of durability and comfort.

hehe i replace mine like 3 months, and when needed. sometimes the straps are the ones that needs to be replaced. now i have learned to but strapless bras so it gets easy to replace the straps than the whole package. :) sloggi bras and triumph are really good ones. :D

I have at least 10 bras in my drawer, and I have this wonderful plan to replace one each month. Yes, that's it... every month, I will get rid of the bra most needing to be gotten rid of, and buy a new one. The plan is not working for me!!! I would say that I buy a new bra every 3 months. For me, my clue isn't so much the straps, but the elasticity around the clasps at the back where I do it up. When that starts to go, it's game over. There are a few bras that have given me issues because those darn wires have started poking through the top... and if you turn or bend the wrong way.. OUCH! It hurts ever so much! It really ticks me off when everything else with the bra is fine, except for those darn wires! Grrr!

I replace my bras probably about once a year, maybe a little bit longer. I find that the backs of them stretch out and then they are slipping up and not staying in place. I hate it when this happens and I am tugging on them to cover up the booby parts. I have really big boobies and I wish I had smaller ones but since that is not a wish that can be granted me, without surgery, I have to live with them and pay more moeny for them than most people do. And because of the size of mine my bras tend to stetch out quite faster than normal. I have about 7 bras so that I don't wear them out too quickly since I take turns wearing them.

Sadly I don't replace my over the shoulder boulder holders as often as they should be replaced. The rule of thumb that I suggested to my former mastectomy clients was to replace them every year because they lose their elasticity. Alas, I never did this myself. Just last week I tossed a bra away that was nearly 5 years old. I did purchase 2 breezie bras that are great and I may purchase a couple more. This should inspire me to toss out more of the less supportive bras I have hiding away.

I have never had one do that, but then again, the last few years i've had to replace them every few months because of sizing issues. I think i should just buy playtex, it might be cheaper.

I finally got bras that fit. They usually were ready to throw out after a year, but I could not replace them until three or four years. So now I have proper fitting bras from Additionelle and I got them last July and they are still as good as new. The bras are fine and I wash in cold water. It used to be that my old bras started to get looser and looser in the strap and looser and looser at the back, but the ones I have are still fine. I guess I will get new bras when I want something of a different color.

Well terry I'm not sure about a specific time frame. Like you I tend to replace when it starts feeling different, loose. Different brands seem to get to that stage at different times. At least that's how it feels to me.But the ones that last more are not always necessarily the mnost comfortable ones.

Well once I find that perfect fit I just go back and get the same one again. Till they discontinue it then I have a problem!lOL

Not as often as I probably should, TerryZ, lol. Seriously, I only have to replace them every couple of years because I wear leisure bras around the house more often than not, and I can save my best bras for the occasions when I have to leave the house.

Well Terry, my bras last for years and years believe it or not thanks to the hints I learned from my mother which is to never put your bras in the dryer and rarely put them in bleach. The reason is because the dryer and/or bleach dries the material out and makes them tear easily. Instead, I hang them on my closet door on the inside so no one can see them. Once they're dry, I'll put them away where they belong. They actually last for years and years. Also, I use a linen bag to wash them in the washer so they won't get hung up on anything and get stretched. They're too expensive to be replacing so often so that's how I care for them. Try it, you'll be so glad you did!

When I was a fitter for mastectomy bras I told my clients to hand wash and hang the garment to dry. It does extend the life of the product. A few of my clients adhered to this practice. I would tell them to do as I say and not as I do. As a result, my bras showed wear and tear more quickly and the elastic in the garment broke down more quickly too.

I buy bras whenever I see a lovely one on sale and I hardly ever throw away bras... When I realize my underwear drawer is exploding I sift through them and chuck the ones that are old and disgusting. Have favourite bras that will wear loads and never throw away despite being really grotty lol

I cannot remember the last time I bought a bra! I guess it was about two years ago. And yep, it's about time to get a new one. I have three, and one of them, (the most comfortable of the three), is getting raggedy. I guess I replace bras about every couple of years.

I think maybe twice a year at most. I usually buy like 4-6 bras at one time during sales time though as they can become expensive. I usually buy one of each color (white, black and tan) and then a few sports bras of any color. I might buy the occasional light blue or pink if I can't find them in the main three colors I like.

Good Morning Sugarplum, haha, love your discussion. Well, I replace mine about once a year, but I buy 4-5 at that time in all different colors..It makes me feel sexy, haha! I don't have much to put in them so mine don't cost that much money to begin with, and with so many, they last for quite some time. Talk to you soon.

When that happens to my bra it drives me nuts! I replace my bras every couple of months, well try to but then somebody else always seems to need something more desperately so it can take a bit longer some times, but yeah try to do it every couple of months. Mind you I seem to have lost that much of my boobs over the last couple of years that I might not have to bother with them anymore! Either that or go back to a training bra.

I used to have to replace them quite frequently because of the same problem with the straps, or once you wash them, they just don't fit right after that! It was aggravating, and I would not spend over $15 for a bra. Now, though, I only wear Victoria's Secret bras. You will spend a little more money, but I have not had to throw ONE away. I love them. I threw out all my other "off brand" ones and will now only shop at Victoria's Secret for them.
