What I do when I have a stupid song running thru my head (usually it's only part of the song and I start to sing it and can't remember the rest of it!) as soon as I start to sing it after the millionth time I will STOP and start singing another random song that I think of at the time and after doing that it will stop and I can move on and by that time I have remembered the rest of the song and then it starts all over again! LOL.

Hi xboxboy, i like that tune but the sound is not very clear maybe that why it make you irritating somehow. Sometimes i just want to hear people voice when they are singging. Without music is more good sometimes. Overoll the music is just nice not make me irritating.

I never whistle them, but I get songs I hate stuck in my head all the time. I usually go out of my way not to hear any song I hate, even leaving a store if one is playing over the speakers, because as soon as the song is in my head, it's stuck on a loop for hours.

I had someone tell me to start thinking of the song Monday Monday if I got one stuck in my head I didn't like. I do like the song but the problem is if you do that then you're stuck with Monday Monday in your head and even that gets irritating after a while....lol

Maybe I'm fortunate, xboxboy. So far, no and I never experienced it before. I mean for an irritating tune stuck in my head. Was it because of your 'mushroom' intake??? ha ! ha! ha!, ....... sorry, xboxboy, I'm just kidding you. Have your nice and great day, xboxboy.

Yep. Got kids, so many of the kiddie songs are irritating to me! Oh, and there was one a few years back that went like this; 'I know a song that will get on your nerves, get on your nerves, get on your nerves, I know a song that will get on your nerves.......' I conveniently forget the rest!

That happened occasionally. But guess what, I realized that the more you detest it, the longer it stays in your head. The fastest way to get rid of it is to neutralize your feelings about it or not giving it too much attention or focus. Then it will naturally go away.

Oh yes! Thanks to a cheeky colleague of mine, I relived the hit song for the Lambchop series and I haven't be able to get it out of my head since! It is a tune that guarantees to drive you totally nutz 'cos it is a lopping song, there is no ending!

I love that song. It is the only thing I can properly play on the piano, lol. But yes, the ones we hate are the ones that stick hardest. That Vongage commercial isn't a tune but it illustrates my point. Let's see, the "got's no fleas" and then my husband's favorite, "That's Amore!" When the stars make you drool/Just like pasta fazool / That's amore! We couldn't resist and bought one of these from the local supermarket: http://www.uniquebeargifts.com/product/G1149 That is Auntie Pasta and the boy one is Al Fredo. Can't you just see me singing along with her in the kitchen? I don't sing worth a darn, but hubby does and he often chimes in to help. If there are any young whippersnappers in here who do not know this song, here are the lyrics: http://www.actionext.com/names_d/dean_martin_lyrics/thats_amore.html

This is the song that never ends It just goes on and on my friend Some people - started singing it, not knowing what it was, And they'll continue singing it forever just because— Paybacks for making me sing somewhere over the rainbow

Right this very minute, I have "Bad Girls" by Donna Summer running through my brain, Xboxboy. I was watching an episode of Homicide - Life on the Street, and it was being played during the end of the episode. Well, I've been singing it ever since. Talkin bout bad bad girls, uh huh. beep beep, uh huh, beep beep, uh huh. Now do you want to get down........... See what I mean? I have songs in my head ALL THE TIME, Xboxboy. I live and breathe songs, for cryin out loud. I've said here before, I wake up with a song in my head - I have soundtracks in my dreams. I'm never, never without music in my head. One thing I really hate is waking up with the song "Everybody's Workin for the Weekend", but it happens rather a lot. I never did like that song, but there it is. Although I don't remember all of my dreams, I wonder what in the world I was dreaming about to have that particular song running through it. Hmmm, interesting. Another great topic Xbox! As always.
