I have another sharing here from my compilation of seminar handouts... Henry Ford considered the following tasks detrimental to a person's ability to be successful: They make too many telephone calls. They write letters that are three times longer than necessary. They work on little things and neglect big ones. They visit people too often and stay too long on each visit. They spend hours with people who cannot stimulate them. They read every word of advertising circulars. They pause to explain why they did what they did when they should be going to evening classes. They daydream at work when they should be planning ahead for their job. They spend time and energy on things that do not count. This is very inspiring. Diligence includes the ability to focus and streamline our activities. To be honest, I am guilty of some of the things mentioned above...

Truly this is very inspiring. I am very guilty of doing many of the things in that list. Mr. Ford was right. It is true that we spend too much time neglecting the important stuff when we focus on the trivialities. It is hard to be diligent about anything when we are not focused on what is important.

I believe that these distractions are meant to be there to serve as a challenge for all of us. It's up to us how to hurdle them. Thanks!

Hello dear dolce. I think that all the lines above are true indeed. Many of us are just wasting our time and spoil our plans and ambitions in life by doing things that are senseless and drag our legs behind as to have nothing to be achieved in the end. I also feel guilty that quite some of the lines fit me as well. Feeling embarrassed. Thanks.

You are right... many of us spend so much time on things that get into the way of achieving our goals... I think what we need is to focus... Easier said than done though...

I am so gulity of a few of what you enumerated here.. like working on little things and neglect big ones... and spend hours with people who cannot stimulate me... but sometimes...the little things are so much interesting than the big ones... and boring people can always be depended on... well... we all do our choices in life... It is just up to us to use them to our own advantage...
