Psychiatry: Should We Say "NO!" To It?

A little bit ago, I put out a request here which can be found by going here:

Now, I'd like to draw your attention to a site that says to say "NO!" to psychiatry...
http://www.sntp.net/main.htm
By saying "NO!" to psychiatry, I don't believe that they mean tossing the whole idea of psychiatry onto the trash heap, but, instead, they're talking about what they also say at the site:
"Put The Psyche Back In Psychiatry!"
Psychiatry has gotten to be a practice where the first thought is to chase a pill after a given problem--when that, actually, might be doing more harm than good!
One of the biggest cases of pill-pushing in this country is the practically force-feeding of Ritalin to schoolkids who might seem to be a little "busy."
Anyway--for those of you who are on some kind of psychiatric meds--I'm not asking you to suddenly go off of your meds.
THAT would ALSO be doing more harm than good.
However, for those people who get prescribed these meds in the future, my advice is to make yourselves informed enough to make the right decision re: whether or not to fill the prescription.
I would appreciate discussion about this matter--both on this current piece and the one I put up a couple of days ago.
Thanks!
