Many of the discussions in this group have involved the human soul and what I have found is that we all seem to have a very different idea on what the human soul is. The general consensus is that it is within us, it is what gives us individaulity. Aside from that some people have seen it as the source of our emotions, the source of our knowledge or wisdom and still others see it as the essense of our mechanical abilities in functional life. What do you believe the human soul is? And what do you think its purpose is??

I have a discussion on this. http://www.mylot.com/w/discussions/1360501.aspx Basically the soul could exist or it might not. If it does, then it could be either a cypher of the mind, or a seperate entity (as others usually believe). The soul could be a true self, one untouched by the environment and other influences, at least as far as we can perceive. It can also be a deposit of former lives, spiritual energy, or other information. Since its intangible (beyond the mind) its harder to access this item, but through things like meditation, prayer, dreams, there is a supposed possibility one can access the information and the entity itself. This is an ongoing thought in my view. I'm still trying to figure it all out.
