There have been several news around about the scandals and controversies involving some idol hopefuls. One is David Hernandez who was known to be a gay stripper for 3 years before joining Idol. Two, Ramiele Malubay has pictures with her lady friend holding their breast. What do you think about this? Do you care at all?

What annoys me with my local news is that they are talking so much about David Hernandez being gay - so what! This is a singing competition and the guy can sing, being gay should not be an issue here. As for Ramiele, another so what, whether she was joking around or even if she is gay too, what is the big deal. I find it amazing how they are not talking about how Amanda Overmyer was arrested for DUI, her mug shot is posted on the same page with the gossip about David Hernandez and Ramiele Malubay so they can't claim that they don't know about it, so why aren't they talking about this - why, because she is straight? This is not fair reporting, sounding kind of bias to me. Let's say for argument sake that Amanda Overmyer was to win the competition, what kind of "Idol" message is that sending out to the young kids who like and idolize her? Not a good one.

I have heard about David Hernandez but not about Ramiele. That is interesting. The only girl I like really on there is Brooke White. I love hearing David Arculete and David Cook sing.

all i want to do is hear their singing.. don't care about the other "stuff".. its ashame that the media wants to tear them apart before they become anything at all. It wrecks the whole show.

It really depends on what the controversy is about. If the controversies are about being gay or having some "goofing around with girlfriends" pictures, well, those are really not what this contest is all about. I guess that's just showbiz, these contestants are being treated like celebrities wherein even their personal lives are being made public. However, if the controversy is related to not being able to meet the rules of the game, that would be another matter entirely. For example, there's an age range, right? It would be bad if somebody too young or too old would lie about his/age in order to be on the show. Something like that. But in the end, it should always be more about the talent rather than anything else.

I love David Hernandez and I don't care if he was a gay stripper or not. I hope he will be the next American Idol followed by D.Archuleta and D.Cook.

Well Ramiele is young. People are always crazy and carefree when they are young so it really isn't a shock. As for David, so what if he was a gay stripper. People go through stages in their life. That doesn't mean he doesn't have talent and it certainly doesn't mean he ís a bad person. The script writer for Juno the movie, used to be a stripper and that didn't stop the movie from being a very big hit! I think people should judge them on their talent not their past!
