Do you feel guilty spending time away from your children?

Do you ever feel guilty if you don't want to hang out with your children 24/7? Like you want to have some personal time? I sometimes won't go workout because I feel guilty leaving my son and husband, so I end up staying up way too late to get things done.

I feel like I need time away from them and then when I take it I feel like I am having a great time and they are missing out on it. I miss them when they are not with me. I feel like I am missing a leg or something. Not unbearable but just not quite like I am used to. I think if I got out more it would help.

I feel the same way. I am always with my kids. The only time I seem to get away is when I go grocery shopping. I am usually trying to rush through the store to get back home to the kids.

I rarely spend time away from my kid. I like it that way. Time goes by so quickly. I guess I don't want to miss anything. My hubby and I go to the ocassional movie. Other than that she goes where we go.So I don't feel too guilty. I guess its made easier by the fact that I work from home.

At one time in my life I could day that I missed spending time with my children. That's when I was doing road construction and working at the nursing home on the weekends. Both jobs were full time and I never got to spend more than 2 hours a week with the 3 I had at the time. Now with my present situation I only get to spend endless hours with one of my 5 children because the other 4 live with my mom until I can get my life straightened out. Hopefully that will be soon, it's been over a year and I want all my children under one roof.

Oh yeah I do. Mostly because I stay at home and my hsuabnd works all day. So i feel bad for asking him to take care of her so i can get a little break during the week or even the weekend. He's in the military so its really different from everyday normal families. I feel like I have to go to go go all the time and shouldn't need a break from my little one. I guess its kind of a supermom complex type thing. Great discussion topic!
