Getting In at Pre-Launch or not??

I don't often start many threads in this catagory and actually this may be my first, but I've been wondering about when the members of myLot jump on these types of offers. I've been reading about new PTC sites opening and in the wake of some of thesee type sites not doing well recently, I wonder how solid some of these sites will be down the road. It seems that they face some very stiff competition from the more established sites and I wonder if getting in real early, in hopes of making referrals, is worth the risk of joining a site that isn't established. I just joined a marketing site that is in pre-launch and it seems to be drawing quite a few people (I've placed a couple of ads and have had 7 people join in the last 4 days, but it's FREE, so the risk is nothing) and the amount of time spent is also small. So to me the risk is also very small... no money and little time spent, plus I'm building referrals. Unlike most PTC sites, I can email my referrals and promote my site and the other ventures I'm involved with. So, up for discussion... do you join a site early on, before knowing how well funded or established it may be, do you send current referrals to the site or wait until you find out if it's solid? Or do you wait on a new site until you know for sure that it will not fold up after a couple of months?

I used to, but found that doing that, you are wasting your time..I stick with what works for me and even if a site was to become a good site, I won't change, have had too many failures..

I agree with you. If it becomes a good site, I might jump in then, but I would feel bad if I suggested a new site to my mailing list and have the site fail. I'd like to keep my credibility intact, rather then take chances. If I were to try something unproven, I would feel I'd need to explain the chances are fairly good it could go bust...but then who'd really join? Thanks for your comments

When a new site like this starts up I usually join but don't really participate until I see how it's going to go. I have joined quite a few sites that have gone nowhere and very few have done ok.

Okay, thanks for your response! Are you the type that actively seeks referrals or do you just concern yourself with earning for yourself? Thanks again for commenting!
