don't you think it's ironic?

American Idol has been around for 7 seasons already and it seems the AI winners are not really popular, with the outstanding exception of Kelly Clarkson. It seems however, the runner ups or the failed AI are more famous than the winner itself. What could be the problem here? Could it be the recording company tied to AI really sucks? It seems that other recording company that snatches the other AI contestants are performing much better.

I don't think it is ironic at all... all those who make it to the top 12 are very talented and have the personality to make it big... and the final winner needs to pay his/her cards wisely... Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood did that... and they are now very successful... With the other winners... i think they need more time to shine more brightly... although some of them already made a name for themselves in different scenes... like Fantasia Barrino in theater acting...

unfortunately for some, like Ruben was bombarded with series of heatlh problem and this definitely is a great loss, both to the fans and to the recording company.

I have noticed this. I thought Carrie Underwood is doing pretty good though. And Kelly Clarkson, even though I dont really like her. I dont ever see any of the other winners around.

Speaking of Carrie Underwood, have you heard her latest single, American Girl? It was nice of her to finally break out of country music.

To me, most of the winners weren't the best. I did think kelly and carrie deserved to win. But the problem is fans either constantly vote for their favorites whether they are good or not. Or in some cases,a lot of people like to vote for the worst person and so the good ones get sent home early. The only other one I really liked is daughtery.
