Today You've Put On 20 Years

Imagine if you woke up this morning and you had aged by 20 years. It's like you've woken up from a long hibernation and you are now 20 years older!
How old would you be (if that's not too rude, feel free to skip!)
How differently would you think?
What would you change about your life if you were 20 years older, but everything else stayed the same, everyone else who was living with you was the same age, partner, children, friends, relatives.
Would you be more inclined to do more things like things you have wanted to do but couldn't before, but fear that 20 years onto your life and you're 20 years closer to the grave
Would you be retiring from work or taking life easier?
I would be 56 years old and I think I'd want to visit New Zealand while I still could and I'm still healthy that would do me the world of good and it's always been a dream of mine to go
So 20 years older what are your first thoughts?

For a start I would be very unhappy if I found I had missed 20 years of my life by being in hibernation!
I will be old in 20 years time. I will be receiving state pension and won't have to work. I will be able to look back on a good lifetime of adventures, meeting interesting people and seeing new places. I hope I shall be in good health after my hibernation and able to enjoy what life I have left.

Good discussion. I would be 52 years old and I think I would exercise more. I am so moody when it comes to exercise that its been 2 weeks already and I still don't have the mood to exercise. I would also be more disciplined in what I eat and in exercising. Come to think of it, one doesn't have to be 52 to do those things. What is it with age that makes us think differently? I know I could do all those things now but like other people, I intend to think differently when faced by my mortality. Most of all, I would spend most of my time with my children and loved ones and create all those wonderful memories with them.

Geez, Wolfie,
You are contradicting yourself! :P
If you said I have just woken up from a long hibernation, then I am still my age now. 20 years later, I will not feel any older than what I feel now - mind and body both.
Age can be defined by the accumulation of experience. So I tell you now that my real age is 6!
Now don't go messing around with me, ok? I am already 6!!!

I will be 56 like you wolfie...dance =)
You know your discussion remind me of this movie starring Mel Gibson. I can't recall the title of the movie though. He was deep asleep for many years in this cryogenic experiment. He woke up and his age started to appear.
I will be disheartened to lose 20 years off my life but I can for see myself, living in the country with a small cottage house, raising 10 bunnies and enjoy every moment that I can. Besides, 56 is still not that old yet so we have more chances of doing things we like. =)

Oh my I would be 57 years of age and hopefully not in a old peoples home LOL I wonder if I would still have my hubby, he would be 60 LOL my son would be 25 years and no doubt on his own living up life and maybe married with children by then. I hope we would be back in the Pacific Islands retired and enjoying life.
I hope you get to visit New Zealand one day (I still miss home from time to time especially since all my immediate family are there).

LOL Ok I would be 58 and that still isn't anywhere near as old as I feel right now! I think it is cruel that you are leaving David and the kids the same age they are now - couldn't you at least let the kids be adults! lol I have no idea what I would do differently as I try not to think that far ahead! I do however think I would like to be in education - probably studying languages and/or psycology as I have always wanted to delve more deeply into these subjects! xxx

Hi there! If that happens, I will be forty five years old. I think that I will still continue my plans of continuing my studies. I would also like to visit my relatives in Manila.

Since I would be almost 82-years-old, wolfie, I would have to be very grateful just for still being here.
As for my day-to-day life, I don't see where I would make any significant changes. I would probably be enjoying the great-great grandchildren rather than the great-grandchildren I am now enjoying.

That is pretty much what happens. One day I woke up and found I was getting old and don't know where the years have gone. I am now going to be 51 years old this year and I can't believe how fast the years have gone. My children are 25 and 33 and it seems like yesterday they were just babies. Yesterday, March 21st was my son's 33rd birthday and I was just thinking about how quickly the years have flown by. So since the last years have flown by I think the next 20 years will go by pretty fast too. If I live another 20 years, I hope so. That would make me 71 years old, just a little bit younger than my mom is now, she is 73. I hope to be as healthy as my mom is at that age.

Wow if I was to age 20 years overnight I would be 43. I definatly have goals that I want to make sure that I accomplish before then. I dont think that 43 is old, but I would like to see more of the world. I want to make sure that I have a career, and not just a job. And I would really like to start a family. Hopefully 20 years is long enought to do all of that LOL.
