Do you think of your dogs as family? Or even in a way as kids? Why do you?/Why don't you? There is no wrong answer.

We have a dalmatian at home. We are one big happy family. I can never leave her at home alone for the night. My daughter will come to our place to be with our pet. My daughter cannot take the Dal to her place since it is a flat. It'll be difficult for her to manage and also our pet cannot run around the place as she likes. She also likes to run after squirrels etc which are plenty in our place. She loves chasing birds too.. but she never hurts them. As soon as we return from office she gives such a hearty welcome by howling and screaming the whole neighbourhood down. all the best dear for asking such a nice question...

She is a doll and very very naughty.. But very careful otherwise. She will not let anyone enter the house when I am not there. Not even a friend who looks after her... Thanks for selecting my response as the best, I am so happy for my big 7 year old doll!!! Bow woowwwwwooowoo

I wasn't a dog lover or any pet for that matter. However after we bought a dog from a pet shop I now experience the bond between our family and the dog and he is part of the family now.

Yes I do treat and think that our pets are part of our family. The reason I think that is because they rely on us to take care of them just like our kids. They deserve our love just like a human.

i never had a dog in the house..but we did have dogs growing up..but we lived on a farm and mostly rural areas..so the dogs stayed outside in the barns or the back porch..it was huge because we had a coal bin and wood storage.. but our shih tzu Reggie is very spoiled but since we are retired he has kept us from being empty nesters as my kids are grown up and married with children..but they are not here ...so we have given Reggie a lot of attention..thanks

I think my dog thinks she is human and we defintetely consider her part of the familly. She goes just about everywhere with us and hangs out with us constantly while in the house.

of course when I had dogs I did, now I have cats and they are my children, they are part of the family and I love them dearly. If they hurt I hurt, if they are happy I am happy. I cannot imagine living without my animals.

I defenialty think dogs (and all my pets) are part of the family. They aren't "just animals" to me and my family. They are friends and family, all in one! They are ALWAYS there when you need them, they'll never turn their backs...they sense and feel your pain and suffering, they'll protect you with their life, they are not prejudice and they don't judge...animals are GREAT! And I could not live without them!

I like dogs very much so I make them as my family. When I was a little girl ,my father gave me a little dog,a male .I always thought I was bringing up with my dog. When my little dog missed ,my heart was broken. For two weeks,I couldn't eat my meals happily untill my second pet coming .

All my pets are considered members of our Multi-species family. We have a dog, two cats, frogs, shrimp and fish! They all give me so much pleasure and I know that the dog and cats 'love' me in their own ways. I don't think of them as kids (I've had two of those) and don't treat them as 'human' I treat them as the animals they are. I value the relationships I have, and have had in the past, with the animals I choose to spend my life with and once I get an animal it's with us for the rest of it's life so what else can it be but a member of the family. I don't say I own them either. I say I've had 50+ years cat/dog companionship!
