the humanitarian and scholar that she was if she were not deaf and blind? I wonder sometimes if it wasn't her disabilities that pushed her to be the great woman that she was. The love and bond Anne Sullivan and Helen had is one of the greatest stories of devotion there is.
A picture has surfaced from 1888 depicting Helen and Anne. You can see the devotion in Anne's face.
Here's the story behind the picture: http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080306/ap_on_re_us/helen_keller_photograph

That's a good question. I suppose the same spirit and personality that helped shape her when she was deaf and blind would still be there without those disabilities. But, she also wouldn't have had Anne Sullivan as a guiding force. Plus, I think she was introduced to many people and many ideas because of her disabilities and the desire to broaden her experiences, since she missed out on simple things. Would she have met some of the people and had some of the experiences that helped to form her ideas if she wasn't deaf and blind? It's a difficult thing to know.

I think that she would have done some good work but not as much as she did because if she had sight and hearing , she would have married earlier than she did.

I think the Helen could have been anything she was when she was deaf and blind.
