Rating?

Can anyone help me with the rules on ratings and points? Where do people get the stars from next to their names? And should I rate the people who respond to my discussions, or are they rated by somebody else? I'm quite new to this and don't really know how we earn our points and money. Thank you

once you reach the 100 mark you get a star. the color of the star and the number on it depends on the quality of your posts and how will you have contributed to the community. 1 is the lowest and 10 is the highest. keep contributing and you will be rewarded with good reputation.

You will get a star by your name when you reach 100 posts.. and you earn a higher or lower star by the way that other users rate your discussions and responses with the little +'s and -'s after each one. . The more +'s you get the better off your star will be ;) As for earning, the only thing i can offer in the way of help is, answer as many discussions as you can in a day, get as many postive responses as you can for your discussions, and after you get to 500 posts, you will be able to upload pictures with your responses, you should do that as often as you can. ;) Welcome to mylot and i hope you have a good time here ;)

I rate all the discussions I respond to and I give them a positive rating because it is the only ones I will respond to, the good discussions. I never give anyone a negative rating unless they are nasty. You will get a star once you have posted 100 responses and there will be a number in your star that represents the rating people have given you for your discussions and responses. They don't mean anything when it comes to your earnings, so if you get a low one, don't worry about it. I don't even look at my ratings in my star anymore, because they don't mean much anyways. Yes, you can rate the responses to your own discussions, that is how they get a rating number and star.

well, i'm sure you more or less know what are ratings and points from the help given here. yes, you can rate anyone you want, so long as you like or dislike their posts. you can also rate people who responded to you but it's not as if it's necessary that you have to rate others. meanwhile, others will be doing the same to you too. if they like or dislike your posts, they'll rate accordingly. once you reach your 100th posts, then you'll usually notice a star next to your name. if people have rated you well, then your star colour and level will be better. the level is the number inside the star. 10 is the best so far i think. you can't go any more than that from what i know so far. as for the points, i'm assuming you're talking about the number in brackets beside your name. that's your user rating or what people usually identify with as the number of posts you have done. this just refers to posts you have done for new topics and not replying back and all the second time. if there's anything else you have doubts about, feel free to ask around. most people here really helpful. enjoy your stay here. have a good day.

I know this might be a question that people ask often, but I couldn't find an answer. My philosophy in life is that if I have a question, some other people most probably have the same question. I hope we get answers. Thanks for your response.
