Thought I'd die! All I wanted to do was wash my hair!

I went to the store to get some shampoo. I just "touch colored" my hair to cover some grey so I thought I'd get some shampoo easy on the color.
Nearly $10 for shampoo! and not just for color treated - but for any kind! I gasped so loud, I choked! The cheapest was about $5 a bottle or 2/$9 and for only 12 oz.! So it'd be nearly $20 for shampoo and ocnditioner minimum per month. It was only $45 for a cut (I had really long hair) and the oclor weave, could almost just do that every other month and use regular, affordable shampoos!
What shampoos/conditioners (cream rinse as we used to call it!) do you use and why? I have also found that no matter what brand I use, it first never does like it shows on the commercials and second, doesn't seem any different per brand.
I remember buying Long and Silkie and Body on Tap shampoos in high school days for my long hair. Never did get that swanky swing and bright shine like hte girls on the commericals!

I like Garnier's Fructis Sleek and Shine and think it does wonders. It costs only $3 or $4 for a 13 oz bottle at regular stores and is cheaper at the discount stores. A little goes a long ways, too, so a bottle lasts forever. I like the whole Garnier line of products, and use their Sleek and Shine conditioner, too.

It isn't so much the shampoo and cream rinse that makes thouse girl's hairdos look so great. It is the styling. Those girls get their hair styled by a hairdresser before filming and we don't have the time or money to do that, so ours never looks as great as theirs. But in saying that, the brand of shampoo and cream rinse does matter to the health of your hair. I have a sister that is a hairdresser and she owns her own shop and so I get my stuff from her. I am using professional stuff on my hair and it has kept my hair much healthier and better looking. I don't pay much for mine, thank goodness, because I get it from her big wholesale bottles and so I pay only $5.00 for each, cream rinse and shampoo, and so it costs me $10. And I don't have to replace it every month either, it lasts me about 3 months.

Yeah, I keep telling my husband that - they have 24/7 hairdrressers- that is why their hair looks so much better than mine!" but he just don't get it! Oh, I take that back, he gets it, he just don't want it!
But I was at target the other day and Garnier Frutis was on sale for $2.99 for the large bottle, plus they each had a $1.00 off coupon on the bottle so I got them for $1.99. I bought 2 each so I am set for a few months. I'll see if the "more expensive" brands do anything differnet!
Good that you get wholesale and have a professional at your finger tips! Lucky you! I just had mine cut (about 5 inches off) and it is now shoulder length and layerd and she did some dye weave to cover the grey so I'll see how it all goes!
