Do u have a good relation with your BOSS ?? So..expecting salary hike ???

Being new to IT industry i was unaware of the fact that its not always your performance that pays..sometimes what pays is how good are you at maintaining relations with your boss..
Whats your opinion ? Are salary hikes easier and almost destined for those who are good at saying "Bosses r always rite" OR for those who care only about their work and performance ???

i have a pretty good relation with my boss. he's always looking out for me and is always supportive. always willing to help and give advice. so glad that i have an awesome boss! but that doesn't mean i can get a higher salary, because that all depends on my performance, my boss' boss approval and also HR :)

i get along great with my boss, the night-shift supervisor at my company. I work at a low-paying manufacturing plant in san antonio, tx and if not for the pleasant atmosphere working at night, i would have quit a long time ago.
