Teacher and Poverty

I like to become a teacher, but I do not like to become a man of poverty.Yet unfortunately I often see that a teacher has something to do with poverty.I never seen that a teacher is as rich as a businessman. Sometimes I will tell my students to study hard in order to pursuit a splendid future, and my students will say,"We don't believe that, my teacher. Even if we can master as more knowledge as you do, we will still to be a poor man like you! Why do we need to study hard?" On that occasion, what will I say? how will I say it? I really have nothing to say!

A person does not go into teaching for monetary rewards. They teach because of the joy they experience in helping students learn something new. My reward for teaching is when a student comes back to me and says thanks. I keep a file folder of notes and letters that students and co-workers have given me over the years. Whenever I need to feel rich I just look through the file folder and that is my greatest reward. I have been teaching for 25 years and I still like being around teenagers. I teach high school. When the time comes that I do not like it anymore then it is time for me to leave. Tell your students to study hard because knowledge brings wisdom and wisdom brings freedom and freedom is the most richest gift of all.
