My daughter has a soccer game this morning at 9:00am (less than two hours from now, as I write). It's 14F (that's -10C) outside right now. When I was 12, I played baseball in chilly weather, but certainly not when it was waaaaaaay below freezing. This is March. And in Oklahoma, no less. Mother Nature either got her calendar mixed up, or she forgot that we Okies should be planting wheat right now. Yikes! So how's the weather in your corner of the world? And do you participate in activities that sometimes nature throws a kink into?

Snow... Yeah, I heard of that. I think I saw a few flakes of it last week. We haven't had enough snow around here this year to make a decent snowball. Other parts of the state, which normally are snow-free (and often frost-free) year-round are nearly snowbound.

My daughter did a beautiful header today. Too bad she was on the sideline at the time. LOL. The girls were bundled up today, and one of the coaches brought hand warmers (the kind hunters wear inside their gloves) for the team. They lost the game, but, as one of the girls said, "We had to let them win so they would feel like they are worth something." The team was another Stillwater team, but with older girls (U14) tham my daughter's team (U13). Actually, both teams really are good, and they love to tease each other both on and off the field.

when i was a child, years and years ago, we never bothered about such trivia, we just used to carry on playing. Yet, im a health and safety officer at work and was shocked that i have to close the staff room if the tempreture falls below 61 degrees. However,we are being warned that tommorow we will have the worst storms of the winter. Shipping in coastle waters has been advised to return to port and we are to have up to 3 inches of snow, strange times indeed blessed be

that is a bit chilly! my hubby has ref'd soccer for many years and while he hasnt done it in temperatures as low as that, he has ref'd games in temps almost as cold and rainy (the only reason they call a game is because of thunder and lightening.)
