My first computer was a Mac Performa, a couple of my friends had recommended a Mac, so I bought an old one - must have been about 1999, and it took some time to learn how to use it. It worked rather good at Internet that time and not many virus programs were made for a Mac, so I had no problem with that. I changed the computer to other Mac:s with better memory during the years. I have still an iMac that I don“t use so often. My newest computer, a laptop, a HP, will be three years old this autumn and the Panda virus protection has worked really well. Please tell us your computer history! When did you get your first computer? Was it a Mac or....?:)

I got my first pc in 2000. I'd just split up with my ex-b/f, was living with my Mom and one of her foster kids had a pc that they didn't want (they weren't allowed on the internet so they didn't want it), I bought the pc and had my youngest Brother show me how to turn it off and on and how to get on the internet. The rest I taught myself. I had that dinosaur for years, even after Hubby and I met. It finally went to the big pc store in the sky and Hubby and I shared his for a couple of years. Almost 2 years ago when we moved into this apartment I bought my new pc, it's an emachine and I love it. It does everything I want it to do and hopefully it will last me a long time. **AT PEACE WITHIN** ~~STAND STRONG IN YOUR BELIEFS~~

Thanks for sharing your story. I think we all have some sort of relationship with our computers, they seem to have some sort of "personality", at least mine does..hehe..

I bought my first computer off of eBay, I think it was a Dell laptop, I hated it and ended up selling it. I then bought a Toshiba for $1,400 and ended up spending a lot to fix repairs and get virus protection and ended up selling that one as well. I am now using a MacBook that I paid $1,200 for and I love it! It is my all-time favorite computer. It's very user friendly, simple and works with just about everything. It did take some time to get used to since the set up is different from a normal PC.

Thanks for responding CherBear04, I think the computers are getting both cheaper and better. I think I would like a MacBook too, or maybe the new one Mac Air - the lighter, the better...!:)
