In 1889 william Gray invented the payphone, in which we used to contact our offices, love ones and etc. Now a days the numbers of payphone users decrease, because of cellular phones that you can bring elsewhere. I wonder, how many people are still using this type of phone. this isn't a survey, but lets try it here in myLot, any users who read this, kindly partake in it, tell us if you still use this payphones, how and why?

It's been over a year since I last used a payphone-I'm almost never without a cellphone nowadays-I'd even bought a pay as you go one for use in the US! (The last phone I had wasn't a multiband one I could use over there..)

I remember very well when there were numerous payphones along the streets and on every street corner! Every place of business had one or two payphones for folks to use. Today one can hardly find or see a payphone anywhere! The use of cell phones has pretty well made the payphone defunct! I haven't used a payphone in years...at least 10 years! I can remember when I was a young girl of 16 and just starting to date. My mother would always give me a dime and make me put it in my shoe so that should anything go wrong, I could go to a payphone and call home! Then inflation made it necessary to carry a quarter to use a payphone...and then soon after that they were replaced by cell phones!

Have not used one in years and many of the pay phones have been removed because of the cell phones. They were not making any more money.

I can't remember the last time I used a payphone. I was wondering the same thing the other day. I was driving by a gas station and saw someone useing one. My first thought was "wow I can't believe they are still using the payphone." To be honest you don't see many payphones around anymore. But I guess its good to have one available in case your cell phone gets lost or something happens to it.
