I love westerns. When I was young westerns were everywhere, now unless you watch a rerun your out of luck. Once in a while there will be a western movie made, but not nearly enough for me. How about you, should they bring the western back? I love a man in a cowboy hat.

As a child I was always watching them, especially on a Saturday when dad was out playing golf, I would feel so adult allowed to watch television on my own and being able to watch what I wanted to watch. John Wayne and Clint Eastwood were my favourites, make my day punk LOL! I always looked forward to those precious Saturdays when I had the television to myself. A big stetson and I always felt sorry for those poor horses that fell over when the cowboys were fighting the indians, I didn't care about who got killed I was more concerned about the horses, as a child I was more worried about those animals!

I wouldn't say I was a big fan of Westerns, but I liked the Spaghetti westerns,The Magnificent 7,John Wayne, all the classics.. On the subject of Western comebacks-Have You heard of the "Firefly" TV Series? This series had a big western influence, but It's in the science fiction genre..The Future Frontier depicted here is represented by the (Some Desert) outer planets of a system (the 'verse,)with not necessarily lawless folk trying to survive without a "Big Brother" society telling them what to do and how to do it..the series was cancelled, but it had such popularity a Movie got made based on it! (Serenity) There are no Aliens-Humanity has moved outwards, bringing only their own problems, those recognisable to Western fans... www.imdb.com/title/tt0303461/ The series is available as a DVD set,and good sales of the set is encouraging interest in more movies being made..

I agree that there are too few modern westerns being made - although 3:10 to Yuma was a good remake. I am not sure though whether there is enough public demand to make that many westerns nowadays

Thank you for replying: I agree 3:10 to Yuma was good. I like Russel Crowe. I also agree that there might not be enough public demand. Everyone seems to like the reallity shows. Not me, they can keep them.

Mosy definaely, I like westerns too. I keep hoping they will bring them back, with the special affects they have nowdays it would be neat to see a guy on horseback running from a tornado on the big screan and that kind of stuff.

Thank you for your reply: Special effects could be neat. But I would hope the would keep the content clean, if you know what I mean.
