My mum and dads dog used to have his teeth brushed at the vets as part of his check up! Plus there are products that you can buy for them to chew and eat that help to keep their breath fresh, I think if you go into a pet shop they will have them in there. I think dog breath is the worst and they always seem to want to share it with you by licking your face!

Cutting out "junk food" and giving your dog nutritious food helps. if he/she is eating table scraps, especially processed foods, cut that out of the diet. A carrot can be a good "people food" treat and is good for the teeth too. I agree with taking the dog to the vet and having not only their teeth examined for rot, but an overall check up as it could be a symptom of something deeper. The vet may also recommend a dental. Dogs can also get used to teeth brushing fairly easily too.

clean their teeth, give them milkbones, and see the vet

Apparently charcoal chew bits help dogs breath a lot. Or, get your dog to be obsessive about lemons like ours is, as he has great breath from chewing so many lemons. Actually, there could be a good reason for your dogs bad breath. Dental decay. It really causes bad breath in dogs. Get his teeth checked.
