Yesterday was an evening well wasted for my hubby, son and I. After attending an awesome birthday party, we decided to go look for a Nintendo Wii. Wow is all I have to say about that! We visited more than a few places whom we thought would have the Nintendo Wii but every store we went to, were sold out and didn't have a clue of when their next shipment was coming in. Most of the cashiers would tell us that everytime they got a shipment in of 20 or so of them, that same morning would be sold out!
We started at Zellars, then made our way to ToysRUs, to walmart, to Best Buy, to Future Shop, to Superstore, to EB Games, and many more. Still nothing!!!
We got home and I was all bummed out, and decided to search the phone directory online to find some other stores that may have a Wii, and copied the numbers down for this morning.
When I woke up I began phoning the numbers to all the stores to see if any of them had Nintendo Wii. After 20 calls maybe more places, still nothing!
I decided to go on Ebay and do a search for one there. I was bidding all day until an hour or so ago and finally I won a bid! I'm hoping that shipping is fast like the seller claims it is, because I"m very much looking forward to playing with our New Wii.
Do you own a Wii? Is it as fun as I think it is?
What are the games like? What's your favorite?

holy. my friend tried to get one for her hubby for valentines day and she did some calling around adn its the same here.. No one can keep them in stock. I wonder why the company is doing that.. can they not keep up with the manufactering demands ? or if it is a strategic marketing scam to keep the price hiked up as far as they can for as long as they can ? hmm.. Deep. What's your idea on the subject? I am glad you got one.. how much did you end up having to pay and how much do they cost in the store ?

I do not think it is a marketing scam. It's been out for almost 2 years now. Everyone wants or wanted to get a wii. They just cannot keep up with the demand. Everyone is liking the interactive technology of it and lets face it with the other game systems that are out 249 dollars is cheap. playstation 3 goes from 399 - 500 dollars and the xbox 360 is 300 - 400 dollars. So the price tag itself has people wanting to get one.

Thanks sissygrl!
I don't see why everywhere has to have a shortage of these video consoles? I did go through a lot of gas for my vehical just to look for one.
Yesterday I went on ebay and found some on there and of course got outbidded, and everytime I did, I noticed I wasn't going to get one for under $300. So I said whatever just bid maximum $310 so I got it at that price. So with shipping it will be another $50 on top of that. I know I know, I overpaid but I think it will be well worth it. I"ll be kicking myself when the price drops for them in a couple years.
This is one thing about me that drives my hubby nuts! When I want something, I'm determined to get it and I won't stop till I have it lmao.

Wow. Quite the ordeal. Congratulations on getting one, though. I bought mine from my friend last year. He sold it to me for about $200.00, plus he threw in a PS2. He wanted the money to buy a PS3. Hell of a deal so I took it. Now he wants to buy it back from me, because he can't find any in the stores. lol. He's offering me $250 which I believe is the retail price. I could use the money now, but I think I'm gonna keep it. It's a lot of fun to play all the old games on the Virtual Console plus the new Smash Bros. came out a few days ago. I'm sure you'll love it. Have fun.

Thank you bochco!
Yes I am indeed excited about getting mine. I have to wait at least for two weeks before I receive it because of paypal taking 6-8 days to transfer money. I just don't like keeping money in that account.. to many things can go wrong. So as soon as Tuesday comes, I'll be paying for it then it will be in the mail.
As for your friend, I hope they don't get mad at you for wanting to keep the Wii.
I am so very excited about getting mine!! I know I said that already but I can't stress it enough lol.
Thanks for your thoughts

I was able to get one for my son the year they came out for christmas. We had found out when toys r us was getting a shipment and I stood outside of toys r us with about 25 other people all night waiting for a wii. It is really fun and your son is gone to love it. You and your husband will really enjoy it as well. I'm shocked that it's still so hard to get. Congrats on finally getting one. I don't really play it anymore but my son does still play it. He really like the super mario galaxy game for it. The wii does come with the wii sports games and your whole family will have alot of fun with that.

I'm scared that I"m going to get bored of it after awhile and it's just going to collect dust. I hope not. I hope I will get the most enjoyment all the time out of it. When I do get it, I'll be buying games for it and probably have quite a collection of them.
I can't wait till I get it!
Thanks for your comment
