What vegetables will you be growing this year?

I think mostly veggies that grow in pots. I want a small green house, a temporary one. I'm tired of battling with mosquitos, nats, black flies, and deer ticks. I can wear netting, but that gets unbearably hot. I can wear creams and oils, but then I don't want to touch food afterward. Also our season is so short that inside really helps, plus our 40 mph winds can knock the life out of plants if not break them in two.
So what will you be growing and why?

Some weeds are edible, you just have to hope you grow the right ones.

Wow, you have a lot to contend with just to grow a few vegies. We don't any problems here except that it does get a bit hot for some plants. My poor strawberries are not doing well at the moment. We have a small vegie garden out the back and will be planting winter vegies soon which will be good because the price of them in the supermarkets is ridiculous. I went to buy 1/2 a cauliflower last week and it was $5.00 just for 1/2. The droughts in our vegie growing areas haven't helped the prices much.

Half a cauliflower, I didn't know you could even buy such a thing and 5 dollars, wow.

Our supermarkets cater for the elderley and those on a budget. We can buy 1/2 of a lot of things... pumpkin, watermelon, rockmelon, celery bunch... you can even buy cut celery sticks individually. It really saves wasting food that would otherwise go bad before you use it. I go shopping for fruit and vegies at least twice a week and only buy little bits so that I know it is fresh.

I don't know what I will be growing this year, writer. I already tried to start some seeds and that didn't work..We usually grow tomatoes and cucumbers, and I have lettuce seeds along with pepper seeds..I guess with all this snow, I have not been thinking about gardening, I really should though, it is March..Thanks for the reminder..:)

It's been pretty cool here, so my onions are working out fine in the window, I have to get bigger pots, so I guess spring garden (salad) veggies are working so far. Good luck and thanks.
