I am homeschooling a middle schooler which is way easier than a high schooler. We have home and arts, literature, health and life studies on mon, wed. We have history, pe, math and biology, tues and thurs. Friday is reserved for discussions and reading. The writing assignments i assign this child are rather short because she has Aspergers. I would say between a paragraph and a page though. We watch a lot of videos on the topics we're studying and do a lot of visually oriented animated things. Online tests, online worksheets and games. There's such a rediculous amount of stuff out there. Type in a search for open course ware. There are free online college courses now at MIT which may be a little closer yet to high school level. I use hippocampus for its powerpoint presentation textbooks and BBC Skillwise for its cool games and lessons in grammar. surfthechannel requires you use firefox but its got a ton of documentaries. we watched the 100 greatest discoveries in biology tonight for our biology lesson. We're just starting the year so it was a great teaser of what biology is really about. All this stuff im mentioning is F R E E and theres nothing wrong with free.
