Over the weekend I thought I would get my cat a little present just for being him, and of course to save my couches. Since I had the extra money to do that I got him a scratching post. It has grey carpet on the base and it's square shaped. Screwed to it from underneath, is a circular pole. On the top of the pole is a spring that standsup straight and has a bright pink florecent pom pom. When we set up his new toy, the pink pom pom looked so full of life, all puffy and new, and now it's been two days since we bought it for him, and when I look at the pom pom I have to laugh because it's next to naked now with 1/8th of the fur on it. The second night we watched my cat and the way he plays with it, and wow he's distructive, that's all I can say about that. Instead of batting at it, he stands up, holds onto the pole, sinks his teeth into the pink pom pom and tears at it like he's ripping off the fur! That's the last time I"ll buy anything with things dangling from it or that is connected to a cat toy for him.

:) Glad you liked my idea.. I have another good one.. You SHOULD do it while he's asleep or locked into another room or he may end up with a needle in his paw trying to get the ball while your sewing!! lol.
