I just saw a cute clip of a 12 year boy from missouri who has a pet chicken, he takes her everywhere including on a sled for a ride, I think that is supper.
When my mate was back home in his native country of Irag, the family raised what he called boul bouls, which looked like a type of chicken and also partridges.
they were also like pets,
the partridges would defend his when he was a child and attack anybody that would come near him because it thought they were going to hurt him. Of course the immediate family was never attacked or close friends for that matter either.
do you know anyone with unusual pets, and what are they like?

When I was 12 I had a pet pig that we raised dad told us not to get attached ot it but we did and his name was henry. I was so ticked when my dad had him butchered.. I refused to eat the meat. My niece was given an egg to hatch out and once it was hatched it followed her everywhere she fed it and took care of it. But someone let it outside and a stray cat killed it. I had pet rats they were really cute to my husband hated them though and when he found out the two females were pregnant he had my brother take them off when I was gone and kill all three Don't know why he had to kill the make but he did. I have had pet squirrels and even a pet cow. My brother in law had a pet raccoon. If you get a animal from birth or small enough then it doesn't really matter the animal beause you can basically tame it some. Not all the way but enough so it might not hurt you unless it's animal instincts kick in. Or so I would think.

I've had chickens before, though I didn't really consider them pets. Don't worry, I didn't eat them, just their eggs!
I've also had a turkey and 3 ducks. My first duck was definitely one of the family. She was even raised indoors with my husband and I when she was a duckling. She was the sweetest thing!
While I was growing up my sister had a tarantula and both of us each had a hermit crab. That's about it for unusual pets for me.

if chickens are unusual pets I guess you can count me in! chickens and ducks and geese Oh MY!!!! and guineas too... poultry are such fun pets. my friend tells me of a time in her youth when she lived in chicago - there was an elderly black gentleman I think she said was called Chicken man Joe - he had a pet rooster and would take him wherever he would go... and the rooster would dance.
He kept the rooster on his head much of the time, and I guess when he went on a bus he would cover him with his hat - I would think it took people by surprise when he would greet them by removing his hat and revealing his friend dancing on his head!

yes i know someone, my grandma's neighbor got a pig as a pet in their yard, the pig is 5 yrs old and she is really huge like a beast, her pang is showing and really smelly when you go near her.. we ask the neighbor why they got that pig, they said that the pig was a gift to them by a relative from a province, so since they don't know how to slaughter a pig, they decided to just keep it as a pet. :-)
