The vatican has listed drugs, pollution, genetic manipulations as well as social and economic injustices as new areas of sinful behavior. Do you think that "new sins" should be added, or should people just continue with previous beliefs? How are people supposed to stop from polluting?

Seems to me that the original sins covered everything pretty well...the real problem is that too many people don't bother to teach the full meanings of those original sins and would rather just use their own agenda. I don't think it's necessary to add new ones and don't understand how the Vatican thinks they have the authority to do it anyway.

The mortal sin list is an unofficial one, started by the church made popular by Dante. Honestly, I believe the Catholic Church is going to do whatever it needs to get in the news. As far as pollution we should all do our part to help the current problems - carpool, use eco-friendly products, recycle, etc. If you need the Syth Lord...I mean Pope to tell you to do that, then you are not doing things for the right reasons and if being eco-friendly gets you into heave, you are on the loosing end of that stick.
