What was your favourite pet as a child, or did you grow up without any?

We had many pets when I was little. Too many cats too count that always ran away, a bunny, two gerbils, three hamsters that multipled quite quickly into many more (the petstore told us they were all girls) goldfish, and a guinea pig.
