Not me. I don't want to know what most people are thinking. I think the main reason I wouldn't like mind reading is because then people would be able to read my mind and I have sick and twisted thoughts at times. What about you would you like to read peoples minds?

I write in a universe where the people I am writing about can read minds. However, it is considered rude to do it. They can project their thoughts to others, even to a certain extent people that can't read minds, mostly just so that the person will think they are hearing them speak their language.
So, if I could control it like that, I think I would like that gift.

This reminds me of Mel Gibson's movie "What Women Want". He had the power to read women's minds. He was miserable! Imagine, a bunch of women crossing him and he could actually hear everything each one of them was thinking! The only thing that made that power good for him was that he could read the mind of the girl he liked, so it was easy for him to win her heart.
As for me, I wouldn't want to have that power. If ever, I would only like to be able to read the mind of the person I love the most. That's it. I would want to be able to know what would make him happy and what would upset him, so I could prevent anything that makes him unhappy.

Lol I have thought about this on my own already. As an 18 year old boy, of course having this power would be a huge plus for me because I can instantly tell what a girl is thinking about me! If I like what I read, I can move in for the kill! lol
However the downside is that you willmost likely end up being hurt if your friend mistakenly thinks something unkind about you and you read it or whatever...
