Is internet really a vehicle of Satan?

I heard one preacher who explained that WWW actually is the number 666 in Hebrew( or may be some other biblical language). Now, 666 being the number associated with Satan, it was explained how, Satan is using www, i.e internet, to spread "his" evil kingdom.
I am not an authority on the Bible, but would be glad to learn more on the subject.

I for one have never heard this. I think anything can become a vehicle of Satan if we are not careful. Even going to church! If you are neglecting your family and job to go to church that is operating outside of God's will too! You just have to keep your priorities straight.

Do you realise that WWW stands for World Wide Web, it has nothing to do with Satan whom does not exist, it is a man made creature to scare children into being good. Nothing more nothing less. It does not exist.

Misuse of the internet, yes. Being linked to satan, that is quite far fetched.

You can find (or appear to) anything in something if you analyze it and look hard enough. But no, I can't see Satan having a hand in founding the internet, lol. Many believe he fuels and controls many things, but I guess it is all in how you believe, too.
