Real pocket Pomeranians?

I see so many people with really small Pomeranian dogs that are fully mature and still under 3 pounds but everywhere I look it seems like all the Pomeranians for adoption or sale are averaging five to 6 pounds as adult. Has anyone purchased a Pomeranian that stayed under 3 pounds? If so, where did you buy it? I'm just really curious to know. Thanks in advance!

Awww, I would love to have one of these! My boyfriend would kill me though, he hates these little dogs for the most part. He generally finds them noisy and annoying. He's more of a large dog person. He doesn't know what to do with a little one. I think he's afraid he'll brake it.

LOL they are very fragile. my husband didn't want one either and now he is the one that suggested getting another one LOL! I knew he would fall in love with her if he just saw her and I was right! She isn't as small as I planned, but she is so smart and adorable that we love her anyway! I think the breeder planned it that way...LOL

We have one that is now almost 7 years old. We got her from a breeder in our area. The really small tea cup poms are hard to find. The best place I can tell you to get one would be from a breeder, as these will be the last to arive at shelters or be sold as adults, and the first ones to go.

Also, sometimes you can breed two tea cup poms, and the puppies will still outgrow their parents if there are larger dogs in the bloodlines somewhere. They will still ocassionally throw back to the larger version. This has a lot to do with the fact that pomeranians were originally larger than the tea cup version - they were bred to shrink the size and get that variety.

do you know where I could find a breeder that breeds the really small Pomeranians? I've been looking for a white one that's female and under 4 pounds, preferably three but I've searched the web and it's hard to weed through all of them. Thank you for your response!

I would like to have one in a way. I have a regular size pom and a rat terrior. I would like to own a toy one day, but not until after my beloved pets are gone.
