has anyone seen any other version of a Titanic movie other than James Cameron's? He made the disaster real for a whole new generation, but took a ton of liberties... i have seen both of the 1950's versions of the film (british and american) and i have to say that american version of the '50s is far more realistic than the 90's version (it had barbara stanwyck in it - some libraries have it...borrow it if you can get your hands on it!)

"A night to Remember" airs on TV here from time to time...I Lived and worked in Belfast for a while,(Where Titanic was Built)-It has been part of the City's Culture ever since, and with the Centenary coming up in 2012,plans are in progress to Commemorate it.The SS Nomadic,Titanic's Supply Ship that brought Passengers out to the Ship from the Fench Port of call,is here for restoration.

oh that would be interesting. i am very interested in this subject and have not seen the movie you mentioned (but have read the book) in fact, i pretty much have read every book on the titanic that is around here... i am so interested because my grandfather, though not on the titanic, he was on a ship on the atlantic that particular night (he was a sailor out of England) there were about 100 ships on the sea that night, but although i have tried to find out which one, i not had much luck...i would either have to fly to england and hit the archives myself or hire someone to do so for me (i am in canada) thanks for your response!!

Titanic Memorial,Belfast - The Titanic was Built in Belfast,Northern Ireland, and this memorial statue stands in the Grounds of Belfast City Hall.
Thank You for Best Response! I got the chance to go see Billy Connolly this past week-If You haven't seen or heard of him,I'd recommend checking out some of his Material-He can be quite crude at times, but will reduce audiences to tears Laughing! He started his working life (as He'll tell you in his act)as a Shipyard welder on the River Clyde in Glasgow-He mentioned getting a souvenir Titanic related T-Shirt on a visit to Belfast-and convulsed laughing as he explained on the back of it was the Logo "She Was All Right When She Left Here!" Here's a few photos..

View Towards Harland and Wolffe's Shipyard - Where Titanic was Built..the 2 Gantry cranes of the yard are part of the Belfast Skyline. There's currently a 200m Ferris Wheel ("The Belfast Wheel") in the Grounds of Belfast City Hall, you can see the logo in the Titanic Memorial Picture-the Memorial is actually within the framework of the wheel at present, and the View over the Shipyard is from the top of the wheel!
and another..
