Why is it so hard to work with windows Vista? My hubby just bought a new computer and his games aren't working on it.. We just bought a brand new Video card that will fit that certain machine... the game says it's vista compatible but it's really not... We've gone to the website and it's says the same... I am just wanting to know why it's so hard to use this Vista?? Anyone have any problems with there Vista?

You might want to make sure that you have the most recent updated for the games and windows Vista. Also, check to make sure the video card that you are using is compatible with the games. I suggest that you go back to Windows XP. You can still buy the software some places and it is not that expensive. Definitely worth reverting back to.

Well you can't really downgrade per sae. You will have to go out and buy the XP software and do a fresh install. Anything you have installed already you will loose. Since that PC is not connected to the internet you probably have one of the original versions of the software which is quite buggy. Just hooking the PC up to the internet may solve his problems.

That could be the problem too. The Vista computer isn't connected to the internet so it can't do any updates on that computer... He wants to go to XP and I do believe he can down grade from Vista to XP... Saves alot of headaches that's for sure... Thank you Sedel for your reply well appreciated!

Sedel that's what I kinda meant buying the software to do that.. I think you might be right on the updates.. I know when I got this one it did a bunch of updates when I connected it to the internet and things worked great than again I'm on XP lol I'll NEVER use Vista knowing how big of a pain it is...

it gives errors saying this game is not compatible with Vista and on the game it says it is.. It will load than error and the screen goes black.. I noticed you made another comment below this one.. I think you both are right with the updates that might help a great deal with the problem we are getting!

There are far too many driver issues with Vista, which is unacceptable considering how long it has been in existance. The manufacturers of the graphics card are to blame for not providing better Vista support, especially on a new piece of hardware. Try to confirm that you have the appropriate drivers loaded for the card. Visit the website and look under the support section was the latest Vista drivers for your card, they will have a description and number. Now look in the device manager at the drivers in use to see if they are older than the available ones on the site.

Thank you Asylum I will do that... My thought is that there is drivers that need to be update in order for him to do his games.. But only certain drivers.. It's just strange how one game would work and the other don't... makes no sense to me that's for sure... Thanks for your reply!

I was having trouble with my Windows Vista and I called HP because my computer is still under warranty. They said that there is a new update to Windows Vista coming out on or around March 15th that is suppose to fix all the glitches in it. Maybe this will help you out. Other than that, I don't quite know what to tell you. Have you tried calling your computer company and seeing if they can help?

I do bought a year warranty and all the stuff that goes with it sense it is brand new... Last thing I want is a computer that I can't do nothing with let alone sit there cause I didn't pay for the extra on it... Thank you again....

So I'm not the only one who experienced that problem. I also cannot play some games on Windows Vista. I still don't know the reason why. Other people still prefer using XP for the reason that Vista is not yet stable.

I've heard that same thing Vista isn't stable enough for games but only certain games... We had to buy a new Video card in order for my hubby to play his games, he is able to play Pirates on it so that's a good things sense he does like that game... How ever the other game he isn't able too.. Still not so sure about Vista and how some say it's great and how some say it's not....Thanks for your reply!

they say vista is not complete OS so i guess. shifting to vista is not a good idea. used OS that u always used. upgrade it when the new ver. is release.

There really isn't much I can do about the OS because the computer came with the system Vista... The only thing I am able to do is go downgrade it to XP load the drivers that need to be loaded but that should come with the OS I would at least think... And than go from there... I think there might be some work when it comes to all this that's for sure... Thanks for your reply!

A lot of stuff still doesn't work with Vista. That's the way it is with new operating systems; XP was the same way. I have two computers that came with Vista. The first thing I did with each of them was blast the hard drive and "upgrade" to Windows XP. The hardest part is identifying the hardware, and downloading XP drivers for it. But after that, it's cakewalk. Practically everything that runs on Vista runs on XP. :P

I've never had any problems with XP just upgraded the things I needed and everything was on ok on that... Just Vista wants to be a little pain when it comes to things... Like gaming and such... He wants to downgrade Vista to XP but than he don't... I just popped on his computer today to check something and I was like OMG I am not ready for vista anytime soon.... Thanks for your reply!

I think you need to know that Win Vista is a relatively new OS and will be the future OS to come. So, being the new kid in town, you will find that a lot of games may not have the patches for it to be played. However, please do not despair for you may not be aware what this OS can actually do. So here is a tip which you may help you. Vista is one OS you can re-partition your hard disk w/o reformatting. So what you can do is to repartition your hard disk and install your XP OS into the other partition making your computer dual OS. I hope you can see what I mean here, so with the XP at the other end, you will still be able to enjoy your games whilst you enjoy the latest microsoft technology without any loss or frustrations.

simple, windows vista sux.you need atleast 1 gig of ram to operate it at a slow speed, and slow is not fast enough for games. there are too many faults with vista, rather try get xp and get rid of vista
