"0 Tolerance" = A Waste of a Paycheck for School Administrators.

We pay our public school administrators and principals to make decisions. Lately, too many of these people have delegated that responsibility to mindless "0 Tolerance" policies. These policies exist so that lazy and incompetent people can act like they care, but really don't give a flying fig about our kids or doing their jobs. These "policies" are nothing short of excuses to abuse students. Sorry, but when a kid is expelled from school for drawing a gun, that is child abuse. It is child abuse when a kid finds a knife in his book bag, and is punished after taking the knife to the office and turning it in (which used to be considered the "responsible" thing to do... when we had principals who knew the meaning of the word "responsible"). We are taught that if we even suspect child abuse, we need to report it to the authorities. So what do we do if the authorities won't take the abuse seriously just because the abuser happens to be a school teacher or principal? If your school district has "0 Tolerance" policies, your school administrators are stealing from the taxpayers. They steal every dime they accept in pay, but refuse to earn.

I agree. Instead of making stupid policies they should work on teaching kids about responsibility and ethics. A good sense of morals is what we need, not a way to just throw away the kids who weren't taught it.

That's a good way to put it. Kids in schools with worthless administrations are "thrown away".

Cheer up! The schools are but the first bastian of godlessness (enlightened thinking).
