I have discussed my gardening skills - or lack of - at lenght here in myLot. The truth is that if anyone was ever born without a green thumb, that was me. DOn't get me wrong. I love plants. The colours of flowers, the different shades of green in different plants... But I kill them all. Including the indestructible aloe vera plant that was given to me because it was basically impossible to kill LOL However there is something I have for many years. I never killed it and it always looks great. It's my bonsai tree. It was my mom's and she gave it to me when I came to live here. I swear I don't treat that one differently from any of the other plant life I had. I don't do anything special. And still, that bonsai tree is doing great for ages. Strange huh? ANyway, my question is do you like bonsai trees? Do you have any?

I have a couple that are in the pre bonsai stage. I had a nice one and someone stole it about 7 years ago. That kind of killed the spirit until I can move where there are no people.

I know what you mean. My mother in law almost killed mine once when I went on vacation. She meant well, but I had left everything just perfect with a container with water and the tree inside, and she took it out and ... well, it took me a bit until the bonsai was looking great again.

Hi... Yes I do like them...and only had one...but it didn't last long with five cats in the house. In fact we don't have too many plants left since we adopted them a couple of years ago. We have one hanging plant high up in the great room and a couple of cacti. That is it...we gave all the others away. Good to know you have a plant that has sentimental value...and gives you pleasure as well. Hope it stays healthy for many more years. Raia

AH.. yeah.. the cats LOL I"ve been lucky that neither of mine took much interest in my bonsai. It's not completely easily accessed by them either so that might help:) All I know is that is the only living plant that I have had for years and it's still alive. THe ones that know me are really surprised by this and so am I LOL
