Based on what you've seen with your own eyes, on or off TV, do you feel that most paranormal investigators help their clients, or do they merely instigate the situation? Feel free to give examples.

I have never dealt with any paranormal investigators in real life. But From the ones I see on TV I think some do help their clients and some don't. I think the TAPS team really tries to help the people they come in contact with. Weather the person is dealing with paranormal issues or just things that can be explained the TAPS team tries to be sensitive to that persons feelings. If it is paranormal they try to help the person come to terms with it, if it is not they try to make the person see how it could be other things without hurting their feelings or making them feel stupid for believing it was. The paranormal state crew is another group I think really tries to help their clients deal with the issues they are faced with again be it paranormal or not. There are some on TV that I think are completely crazy and just tell people they feel and see things just to make the client feel better and get the ratings up. I don't believe the psychic shows to much because any one can claim to see or hear people from the other side. There are several out there that I can't stand to watch. I think the ghost hunters international is one that is to eager to call something haunted and some of the cast members to easily feel and see things that are not there. I think this hurts the clients more than it helps them. I truly believe in the paranormal and I think the ones that are sincere do help the clients and the ones that are in it for the ratings or the real life one in it to scam not only hurt the clients but hurt the whole credibility of the paranormal community.

I must say I agree. I watched TAPS for the first time this week catching it by accident as I was channel surfing. They started with a prison they investigated and ruled out alot of it, and explained to the client that they could explain everything except this one thing. So they said they couldn't be sure, but it was possible. Their next job they discovered that alot of the stuff happening in the house was explainable, and did not get anything with their equiptment. They told the woman about all of the house issues and explained that the childs "seeing things" might be attributed to him trying to stay sleeping with her rather than staying in his own room. Then they gave her advice on dealing with that. Paranormal state I agree with totally. I have seen them fix stuff, explain stuff, and things that were so bad they couldn't deal with, I've seen them bring in several experts and excorcists to deal with. Ghost Hunters I also agree with. They are more like scientists trying to prove and disprove but never handling any of the issues at all.

I am so glad that you found TAPS and enjoyed it. The show with the mother and child was a good one to show how much they care about helping their clients. I am addicted to that show and miss it when it is rerun time. They have really showed some awesome findings. I am a true believer in ghost and I want to believe that the ghost hunters is legit when they do find paranormal proof. I will say that if they do fake the show at least they do it in a way that is believable. I believe in them any way. So you watch paranormal state too? I like the show but I wish they would show more paranormal proof. They claim these are the worst cases they have deat with but they show little paranormal activity. I guess I like to see it and hear it more than just hear them say they saw it or heard it. Soundslike we watch the same kind of stuff. Any more ghost hunting shows that you watch? I am always looking for new shows to watch that are like TAPS.

Oddly, I've noticed there aren't alot of them on. My schedules actually picked up as of late being back to work, getting the home improvements done, and with That Night Watch and Seers` Garden starting to pick up speed. Suffice to say, I haven't had much time to actually check if there are any new shows tuning in.
