I was cheated by a woman

I was cheated by a women in Canada who offered me a paid for writing job. Initially everything was rosy she loved my writing and she paid me very well rosy kind of thing. She paid me $151 for the work i had done. Later she made me work for an amount of $500 and she never turned up. She never responded to my mails, phone calls, etc. What is the best suggestion you people would give me regarding this. How to save myself from these people and these fake companies. Give me good advice guys and i will be really pleased. I am currently staying in California what should i do to approach legally.

How did you get the job? thru an outsourcing website?if so, you can ask the website owner to help you track her down. $500 is a big money, and you worked hard for it. How did she paid you the first time? if it's thru paypal, then you have her information or her company, you can always sue her or file a formal complain. But before doing that, give her a due date or the last day for her to respond on your email saying you'll file a formal complaint on her or her company. There are internet laws in US, so you're good. Just save her emails as form of evidence.

I will do it. She payed me through paypal and i have retrieved her contacts. I sent an email and i am waiting for her reply. I lost hope of my $500 but i will see that she repents for it and never does that in future. I won the project through GAF. I am in California. Your name says NCgirl does that mean north carolina girl just curious lol. Thank you very much

yeah, north carolina here..lol can't think of a username.. I just signed up through GAF too, and been bidding on some projects.. I think some buyers could really get away with paying you or us, the payment for our work isn't guaranteed. Im a member of another outsourcing website, I have an online job there, minimum though but Im guaranteed paid every week, look it up on my profile, check it out.. but I guess you're a member of it too. Oh well, let her pay! Goodluck

OMG! That's horrible that this happened to you. i am not sure how the laws work there but you should be able to report it to the authorities as it sounds like you did have a way to contact her. Hope this helps some.
