The world will end in the year 2012 only a short 4 years from now, do you believe this! My husband does. He's always saying "Oh well, in another 4 years we'll all be dead" I wonder if he's right, do we really have such little time left on this crazy planet? What do you think?

There is a book called "The Mayan Prophecies" that names the date as 12/21/12. That is the day that the earth, moon and all of the planets will align. Some have said that the alignment will cause a massive shift in our magnetic poles and trigger huge earthquakes and volcanos. It has been proven by science that the phases of the moon do affect when volcanos explode. This of course would trigger massive natural disasters which very well could affect our lives in profound ways. I don't know that it would be a world ending event, but it could very possibly change the way we live and relate to the new world around us.

Hey, I didn't say it was my belief, I said it was Nostradamus's belief. I don't really know yet what I believe. I suppose it's all up to the big guy upstairs and I don't see anyone building any arks yet, so I guess we are afe for now. Just be a good person and you'll be fine. what do buddhists believe?

I was born and raised in the Buddhist faith. My beliefs are different than yours.

They believe pretty much the same as Christians. The whole premise is love and compassion for all creatures, all people, all religions.

I thought Nostradamus said end of world was the year 3797. some people say the Mayans said end of world was going to be in 2012, though I believe it is just that their calendar ended in that year as you might guess, don't believe in any predictions, especially Nostradamus' whose predictions can be twisted any way you want to

Nothing bores me, I love everyones perspective and thanks ! I imagine the best thing for people to do is just live their lives as if they had forever and enjoy it even if you knew for sure the world would end in such and such a time.

you would be surprised that aztes also predict that on 31st dec 2012 the world would end but they are not talking about armagaddon but of eras. you see everythig in this world comes in a cycle like day and night and the seasons etc. so on 2012 one era of mankind would end and another will begin. thank u for reading

That is surprising, haven't heard that one. Maybe it is just that, and end to something and begining of something else. Every cycle has it's beginnings and it's ends. thanks for responding.

I don't know about the World ending in 2012, but I do love Nostradamus. Of course I take what he says with a large pinch of salt, but, depending on whose translation you are reading , he has been uncannily accurate in some of his predictions. The way I look at it is to accept that if my time is run, then so be it. If the World ends what can we do about it. NO, take a bottle of your favorite hooch (or whatever else makes you happy), grab your man, or in my case my woman, and let the end wash right over us.

The end of the world has been predicted many times by many people. There have been predictions for hundreds of years. It has been said that the predictions of Nostradamus have been quite accurate, however he speaks in riddles and vague predictions that can be read this way or that way. I changed my hairdresser because he refuses to take debit cards or credit cards because of something he read in Nostradamus. I would not worry too much about what Nostradamus has to say.

No I think we'll still be here stil messing up the planet. I remember other world ending theories over the years and so far none have merit. I'm not involved in a religion that has this doctrine, though and may be difference for those folks. whit

Humans will still be alive in 2012. Alot of people thought the world was going to end in 2000.

if anything i think its more of a transition the world will go through nto the end of the world, many beleive that alot of the prophecies state the end of the world when in fact most of them mean a end of the times as we know it and a time for new beginings. i dont think there really is a end of the world. I think htats just a made up thing from man in past and future

I have heard of Nostradamus, but I do not know too much about him, which maybe for the best if he makes lots of predictions like this, I would be a nervous wreck! But if he is right then that is a pretty scary thing to think about, I mean especially as I am trying at the moment to save more than I spend, but if I were to believe this then that means I dont have to save and so I can just go on a big spending spree!!
