Just ranting...

I really got irritated yesterday when I went to the office! You see, in one of our meetings last week, I was scheduled to proctor an exam on March 18 at 1:30pm. I was fine with that. Just when I got everything scheduled until March 18 since that will be the last school day for this school year, things just have to change and I was not informed immediately. I was conducting an exam yesterday in the evening. I had no intentions nor reasons to go to the faculty room. However, something inside me tells me I had to go to the office. So I went. I was reading some announcements when I saw that announcement which says that the exam was moved March 13 at 1:30pm (that's today!). I really got pissed off because I was not informed about the change in schedule earlier. Now I have to reset some of my appointments particularly those that I have set today and those that I canceled for March 18. Imagine if I have not seen that announcement.. Since my subject head did not even bother informing me about it, I would have been somewhere else today without knowing that the exam is TODAY. Considering that my class today is in the other campus, there's no way that I would have known about it! There's nothing wrong with changing schedules for as long as they inform us ahead of time. They should also consider that we have other things to work on. This is not the first time that this happened. We've even mentioned this several times in our departmental meetings and I thought they would have addressed this concern already...

Most of us encountered such a situation. I can fully understand your anger. They are the bosses. How can we do? So calm down, and have a rest.

While it is true that they are the boss... I think they should also be sensitive to their subordinates...

If I have not known you better, I would think that you are foolish to have stayed in such organization. But I do understand how much you love your job. Maybe you just have to be more patient.

You have my sympathy. as you say there is nothing wrong with changing schedules but they should notify every one concerned that is only common sense.Lookslike you will have to bring this up again in your departmental meetings until someone gets the idea. hope things get better.

Thank you! Well, I think that I do not have any other choice but to bring it up again in one of the meetings soon.
