Whenever I am driving the car, I used to put on FM stations - there are some 6 or more in Bangalore. I love to listen to songs and not very keen on discussions and hence I do not call the staion for some competition or just even to make reqeusts for songs. While driving I will not make mobile calls and after driving is over I have my tasks cut for the time available.

I haven't done this ever. But my mother has done this for a couple of times already. She likes to join to several contests in our local FM radio stations. We would sometimes hear here singing a song while calling to them and she would tell us that she won something after.

yes, I did try it a few times when I was in elementary and in high school. I wasn't much into requesting songs though, it was more of a greeting call, I mean I used to call to ask the DJ to greet some of my friends who could be listening or on special occasions like birthdays, etc. Sometimes I get the chance to greet on air and at that time it was a big deal because our city was small(still is) and there were only few FM stations that were famous or mostly listened to.

When I was in highschool, I like listening to the radio. I cannot study without it. I get sleepy easily if the room is too quiet. And I did call the radio station almost every night, especially during exam week. I call to request a song to be played, or just talk to the disk jockey (DJ). I remember 93.9 WKC was my favorite radio station, and I became good friends with the DJs there. They greet me on air, mention my name during airtime. But I did not get the chance to see them in person.

Hi there, Yes i agree with the above person. I do hear songs while driving but i prefer my music cds rather than radio. Sometimes i do listen to radio late night or when i am feeling like to hear something new. I have never talked to a radio jockey and i dont think i will in the near future. Cheers, Tutul

as far as i can remember i haven't called any FM radio stations here in our city. but i was tempted a lot of times. especially during my high school days when i was so into love songs and all that because it was the fad in our school. it just seemed like exciting to call a radio station, greet my friends over the air and request for my favorite song. but the thing that stopped me was calling a radio station is a long distance call which was back then, expensive. but i do send request messages through cellphone to a radio station that plays alternative rock songs and request for my good ol' favorite songs once in a while.

I am from Guangzhou, China. It seems here most of the radio stations call FM channels. As to AM channels, they have less compare to FM channels. Besides, I think FM channels are clear.

I listen to them at times but I wouldn't dream of throwing money away to talk with the radio jockeys.I don't have enough patience to listen to them speak.

I occasionally call our radio classifieds which is on an FM station. We do that when we are looking for something specific or if we are trying to sell something we no longer need. It's local and people from different areas call in to sell stuff and sometimes we can get it in almost new condition for little money.
