Poetry is an expression of ones self

poetry is the language of our soul, it is where our inner self speaks more than of our minds, its more of the feeling within expressed and the supressed. It is a free flowing instinct that the moment you hold a pen it goes on naturally.sometimes its feelings are easier written than telling then before you know it it poetry. It is the story of ones life, ones dream, ones destiny....

I agree to this. Whenever I feel something I wanted to let the world know about but i know i can't -- i write it and it turns out to be a poem. The words just flow like it's normal talking to someone. I just write and write. I have so many compilation of my short poems here. It's mostly about my sad stories. I make poems more when I'm sad.

I completely agree with you. I write, and when I do it is just a flow that comes right out of me. The thought or idea comes in a line, then another, and even if I am in a place where I can't write it down, it just stays there until I do. I love that feeling, I usually don't even change it, unless I am sure it will not make any sense to someone else. The flow comes and goes, sometimes it just isn't there, and I can't write at all if I try to force it. Thanks for this post, it is a good discussion.
