1. Clean out and organize the closets in your home. This is an easy job. Sort through the clothes or other things stored inside the closet and make an effort to finally get rid of the things you haven’t worn for ages. Get rid of that stack of old picture frames that have been on the top shelf since you can’t remember when. Rehang items neatly and/or repack items in boxes and label the boxes. Paint the inside of the closet white before you replace the items. It will look neater and brighter. You’ll save electricity with white paint too. 2. If you’re painting and have extra paint on hand, clean the baseboards in the room where you cleaned the closet. Wash them down with soap and water. Dry them and repaint them white. It doesn’t matter what color the walls are. The white paint will make whatever color is on the walls pop. 3. Change the window treatments in each room. When you take the window treatments down to launder them exchange the ones in the living room for the ones in the bedroom. You might be surprised how this easy change brings a new atmosphere into each room. If they don’t match too well, bring in inexpensive throw pillows to match the window treatments. Accessorize accordingly. 4. While the window treatments are down, if you have blinds clean them by soaking them in a tub of soapy water. Rinse and pat dry and Rehang. It will only take a few minutes. Don’t forget to clean the windows and the casement around them. You will be amazed at how the view will look through a newly polished window. 5. Buy several containers of caulking. Caulking is inexpensive. Go around the outside of the house looking for cracks. Fill in seams in siding and cracks around each window. Fill in around the porch lights too. You can buy clear so it doesn’t show where you’ve filled in. It will save you money filling in the cracks where air escapes from inside. 6. Clean out your flowerbeds. Use the debris and clippings as mulch. It will give your house more appeal if the flowerbeds look taken care of. It’s also a good idea to keep plants a few feet from the house. It acts as a firebreak and also keeps pesky insects from crawling from vines to wood. 7. Bring the outdoors in and the indoor out. Whether you have a designated patio area or not you can move furniture out into the yard and create an extra living space. It’s great to have a sitting area under the tree in the shade to relax or enjoy spring drinks. You can arrange some of the extra greenery you cleaned out of your flowerbeds in containers inside your home. 8. If the heat is getting too much for your cooling bill, purchase inexpensive sheets of lattice. Cut it to fit the windows on the hottest part of the house. Paint them or seal them and attach with screws. Six screws should do secure them well enough. It will block some of the hot sun while you keep your view. It also helps deter burglars. 9. Spend a weekend cleaning out and organizing the garage. Paint the inside of the garage white. It’s very inexpensive. Hang items on walls or pegboard. Paint the concrete floor. Make the garage a room you would be proud of. 10. Remember all of those items you sorted through from your closets and the extra items you found while cleaning the garage? Now have a big garage sale. It’s inexpensive to have a garage sale and it’s easy to watch you wallet bulge from selling all of that stuff that’s been taking up so much space in your closet.

Half of your home improvements or spring cleaning ideas wouldn't apply to me since I live in an apartment, but last week I did start a spring cleaning thing that will take me quite awhile to do...I decided to go through all my storage containers that have tons of stuff in them, especially old papers and go through everything with a fine tooth comb and chuck most stuff out..like why am I keeping this stuff? My closets are fairly organized but it's the kitchen cabinets I really want to go through and clean out too...oh, what fun...hehee

I was just thinking about spring cleaning today during my regular cleaning..My family is going to hate me, they can't stand change or anything of theirs being touched, so I will give them a good fair warning before I start digging in..lol
